Now dont get me wrong, I love my Nexus, but the idea of a 3D phone does sound tantalizing.

I bought my phone on opening day, May 6th, which means I have my 30-day return rebate valid until June 5th (I think). The EVO 3D is rumored to come out on the 4th of June.

Has anyone else though about returning their Nexus for the EVO 3D? I stopped by Sprint to see if it was legal and they said yes, the only fee would be a $35 restocking charge.

Has anyone else though of this? I may switch back to my Pre for a couple of days just to make sure I fit in the rebate window.

Thoughts?

Why would we buy a Nexus and then switch to the Evo for 3D? Pointless.

I originally bought the Nexus because I didnt want to wait around all summer for the EVO 3D. Just asking if, now that the opportunity is here, has anyone had second thoughts?

No way. Exchange for a clunky, heavy phone, that looks like an old micro cassette recorder, just for gimmicky 3d technology that'll require a bottle of excedrin for the headache it'll give you? Didn't mention the faster processor because it may not feel faster, give sprint bloatware and Htc sense that'll bog it down.

If you asked me that question a month ago EVO 3D vs Nexus my answer changed each day. One thing though was important to me after running CM7 on my original EVO, I needed a way to run stock android. I bought a NS4G a week ago and since no longer even think I'd consider an EVO 3D. Plus now that HTC is going to be using a signed bootloader (yes, they are possibly reconsidering but that is up in the air) it makes me even more glad I got the NS4G. I've had the form factor of an EVO for a year and I really like the change to the form factor of the NS4G.

Good point, I love the form factor as well, but the style of the Evo 3D is also attractive to me. Im just curious.

Not on this life time. Who knows if they'll unlock the bootloader. I went nexus for updates. Not to sit around and look out the window at new features Google has but I'm stuck inside waiting for old updates. Lol.

Maybe if it didn't have 3d. A nfc chip. Super amoled plus. And instead of 2 cameras it had one 10-14mp. With an unlocked bootloader. Then maybe. Lol.

Well I just got my Nexus yesterday so if it does release next month I'd be able to return it. I hate 3D anything but the power of the phone is awesome. Biggest downside is the locked-bootloader which almost kills it for me. Also since it has 3D, I'm left wondering how good the display is in regular use.

Nope you couldn't pay me to trade my nexus for the evo 3d, bloated, skinned, locked down, (you guy's really think they are gonna unlock it ? lol) no thank's. Your call tho good luck.

I thought about it every day since I returned my Epic so that I could get the NS4G!
I had a Pre since day one and it finally was time! Didn't want to give up webOS but I had to, got the Epic and I haven't regreted leaving it behind. . . But, when I heard the NS4G was coming out, on my 30th day, I returned it and didn't know how long I was going to have to live with the Pre for. . . Thankfully it wasn't that long and I was out of the country for some of it to help.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized that the EVO3D is only that, 3D. Has nothing really to offer over the NS4G!!!
I don't think the processor is enough (like some one already pointed out!) and am not at all attracted to the 3D option. For me, the SuperAMOLED and thought of instant updates is what makes the NS the device I want over having 3D!
I checked out my friends ATRIX to see if the res on those qhd screens was worth it; NOPE!
I'm loving all the google integrations! And with google wallet just announced, yeah. . . not taking it back for 3D!

Welp that locked bootloader thing didn't last long. They announced today no more locking bootloaders. Makes the Evo 3D much more attractive.

The evo will be nice and all, but a few things will keep me liking the nexus... The super amoled/ + display is imo the best display on the market. Something the evo cant match. Also Updates, nfc. I dont care for sense much, pure google is a much smoother experience. I love htc products, but I dont really dont see the evo having much of an edge over the nexus. Dual core is still not ready for prime time yet, and I have my doubts the evo will be much faster for day to day operations. If the evo is no faster for day to day usage, then I dont see a point in getting the 3d. 3d is cool and all, but deff not a selling point for me anyways. I should have a demo unit soon, so we will see how the 3d is..

This topic: "Oh no, I bought a very good phone that was released months ago on another network, which means it is outdated now. The Evo 3D is the newest thing, so I absolutely have to have it, no ifs ands, or buts about it."

Honestly, the Evo 3D will have a faster processor, but you really think that'll make a differencen considering both Sprint and HTC loads the phone up with bloatware plus HTC Sense running, which consumes up more processing power?

Stick with the Nexus S

Android also doesn't fully support or utilize dual-core yet. Won't until Ice Cream Sandwich.

I'm definitely going to stick with the NS4G. Though it's not superpowered, this might be the best phone that I've ever used. However, the few issues that the NS4G has might encourage me to switch, provided the Evo runs well, including;

1: Speakerphone echo. Major issue, with a good possibility that we'll never see a fix, seeing as how it's probably hardware related.

2: Low Speaker Volume: Minor issue, seeing as how it could easily be fixed with an update or developer fix. As of right now, don't plan on watching YouTube or Netflix in an area with any background noise, 'cause it will drown your phone's speaker right out.

3: Antenna Issues: Major or minor, depending on if and when it can be fixed. I have hope, but am not really the gambling type, nor do I have the money to buy another phone before the 2 years are up.

Other than those issues, this phone is a dream. Its so quick in everything it does that you won't see any kind of a difference in day to day use with the exception of anything graphically intensive, and the form factor is fantastic. If NFC takes off, then it's just one more thing I'd love about this phone. Just hope that Samsung hasn't already given up on the firmware updates as they so often tend to do.

the 3d will still ship locked. it may be months before they unlock the bootloader via an OTA. i don't want the 3d anyways. ill probably keep the nexus until the atrix or the galaxy s 2 ships on sprint.

I got me NS4G on May 20th, if the signal issues on the NS4G don't improve by mid June I'm going to the EVO 3D if it's released by then.

If I'm going to deal with having to wait for fixes and BS... at least I'll be on a Bleeding edge (relatively) phone... Dual Core / High density display / yada...yada...yada... and HTC's hardware is top notch. (Not that Sammy has a bad track record...)

And Dual core not being ready until Icecream Sandwich... At least my hardware would be ready....

well the nexus will get ice cream before the 3d does anyways.

That won't stop me from jumping ship if the signal issue isn't fixed before the 17th of June.

But I bet HTC doesn't mess around too long before releasing ice cream asap to get both cores rocking on their flagship phone.
