Return to Unlimited

I gave up my unlimited to get an upgrade, Galaxy S4. At the end of 14 days I decided to cancel my upgrade and wait for the HTC One to come out. After returning my GS4 to the third party retailer, I contacted VZW customer service. Spoke to a rep, and she was able to put me back on unlimited, no begging or anything. That's the only thing I like about VZW so far, is their customer service. Goodluck OP.

So i returned the phone and the guy at Best Buy said it couldn't be done. About an hour later I called Verizon and the lady I was talking to said I could definitely get it back because I returned within the 14 days. So she put the paperwork in to get it back, woke up this morning and I've got my unlimited back!

I knew it could be done, I've personally done it for numerous customers, it's sad that most are misinformed about terms and conditions of a carrier.

Like I said, just call CS.
Now.... STOP PLAYING AROUND AND BUY THE DEVICE AT RETAIL!!!!!
Yes, I'm yelling. Stay on unlimited until they kick you off.

I tried asking Verizon about this but they haven't replied yet. I recently switched to the Blue HTC One from Best Buy and gave up unlimited data. I'm still within the 14 day return policy. If I return the phone will they switch me back to unlimited data?

yes they will. I did it today.

much simpler solution then paying 600-700 dollars for a phone.. just transfer your upgrade to a dummy line and then switch it over after activation. I've bought a DNA, one, and G2 this month all at contract upgrade prices and still have unlimited on all my lines.

You still pay for the line. It's cheaper but if you are on an individual plan you now must switch to a family plan.

it doesn't work for everyone, but personally I need to have a camera-less phone for work (DoD).. so I have had a dumb phone on my family plan for a long time, it only adds $10 to my bill every month.

So I transfer upgrades to that line, use them, and activate them on that line. then I just reactivate the dumb phone and I now have a new phone free to add to any of my other lines without losing my unlimited.

Personally.. with how much verizon costs.. or any carrier for that matter.. I don't feel I should be paying full price for a cell phone and my monthly bill.. that subsidization of 500 off or so on most phones to me is important and I think anyone paying for a monthly bill should be taking advantage of it.

Well yeah your job requires that. I work for DoD as well so I can understand how you can't have the cameras in certain areas but some are on individual plans so.. They have to just go full retail.

This is exactly what I do. Customer service CAN put the unlimited data back on the account, if the store does not. Places like Best Buy though will have to go through their channel support department to get it done.

Just buy a phone at retail price if you want so you can keep your unlimited data. Having a cap sucks balls.

I don't go over 2GB often, unless I am traveling, or driving a lot then I will stream Pandora and use FoxFi.

But the OP may so it's better for his wallet to have unlimited :).

I must ask, how did you do that? You have my curiosity meter pegged.

I mainly have been watching game tournaments (League of Legends) on Youtube. I have been using HD quality (not HQ) so that has been eating up a good amount. I have also been watching game streams via the "LiveStream" app (basically it streams Twitch.tv streams... it is not the official app but a 3rd party one that is better than the offical).

I have noticed that "Android OS" is also counted for some of the livestream / youtube streaming -- I guess it is using a system process to help stream these so it shows data usage under that. My usage will re-set on October 7th (it always resets on the 7th of the month).

Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between HD quality and HQ?

HQ (high quality) is 720p. HD (high definition) is 1080p. So HD will utilize more data.
