Sad to return my Nexus 10, it was my first tablet and I really liked it. The resolution and clarity is the best among any other tablets I have seen. There are few issues which I'll list out below but the problem which made me return the N10 right away was the loud screeching siren while playing Asphalt 7 for only 5 minutes or so. I have posted the video to Youtube.

While researching on the internet, I see that its one of the open issue for Nexus 10. My Walmart return window was closing so I had to return it right away otherwise I would have spend more time testing it.

Some other issues:
1. Reboots/Restarts with Youtube or chrome browsing.
2. Screen freeze mostly while web browsing on Chrome and FF.
3. Slight shadow on the top and bottom of the screen with white background. Mostly I have seen on white web pages and while reading books on Aldiko.
4. I tried GPS with offline maps, it took some time to get the GPS going and lost the signal half way and reconnected after 10 minutes or so. Its in moving car with clear view of the sky.
5. Not so great battery life. Idle battery life was good but if you watch videos and web browsing the drop was steep. I don't think 8-9 hours on video is realistic.

Issues 1 and 2 are well known and could be fixed with next software update and I could have lived with other issues, but I can't have my tablet screaming at the wrong time :(

I'm looking at Note 10.1 as there are some nice features which are not on N10 like split view, air view, pop up apps, changing brightness without leaving an app, etc.. The only downer is the resolution which is much lower than N10. Well.. with N10 I thought I found the best tablet but I guess my search still continues..

BTW, I called Google for this issue to get my tablet exchanged or repaired under warranty, but they said since I bought from Walmart, I have to call Samsung. Called Samsung, and got transferred from one dept to another couple of times. Spend some time with the tech support but they have no idea about this tablet. It seems with N10 you won't get good tech support if you have bought from anywhere else except Google's play store.

Sorry to hear that.
I really like mine. , I don't use chrome instead boat browser works great, the GPS finds signal even in my apartment my Acer did not do that but I don't use it anyway I use my phone if I need GPS
Battery is alright. Note has better battery time ..

No reboot here

Sorry to hear that. I had none of those issue. I haven't tried gps with offline(4) so I can't say any

If you returned it to Walmart, did you try to get a replacement from them.... or are they sold out now?

I think you should give the N10 a second try because it really is an awesome tablet. I don't have any of the issues you listed and many people have great experiences with theirs... so you should at least try out a 2nd one before giving up on it completely lol :)

I'm debating on getting one. If I got one that had so many issues, I'd at least give it another shot. I know there are some confirmed widespread issues, but some people don't experience any. If the second try is terrible, then give up. But every product has bad ones here and there. Even the almighty Apple has, er, bad apples...

The second one could be golden.

Most of the widespread problems have been with Chrome and the last update. At least that is easily solved by loading Firefox or another browser. Some people (including me) are still getting occasional reboots and screen flicker under certain conditions, which ALSO seem to have started with the last update. Have had no issues with "shadows" (??), battery life, or GPS. I do hope they push out a better update soon...

Hi. I currently own the Nexus 10, the Note 10.1, the Infinity TF700, and an ipad 3. I've been using the ipad but wanted an Android tablet instead because I don't like iOS and detest apple's feminine styling and form-over-function design philosophy. I bought the three Android tablets at the same time so that I could compare them. I will be returning at least two of them or all three if none are better than the ipad 3.

I like the Note 10.1 a lot, but you are going to have a very steep drop in resolution from the Nexus 10 to the Note 10.1. I think it has literally half the PPI. The build quality is not as good either. Of course, the Note 10.1 has great capabilities, but the resolution is a deal breaker for me. Some say it isn't that bad. It is that bad. It's horrible. The Nexus 10 and ipad are excellent. The TF700 isn't that bad. The Note 10.1 is that bad.

I had some problems with reboots with my Nexus 10 in the first few days then I disabled currents, stopped using chrome, and disabled flash on the boat browser, and it's doing much better. Sorry to hear of your problems. If you don't mind the resolution, the Note 10.1 is awesome - arguably better than the Nexus 10.

It seems most of the problems were related to that specific unit. I might give Nexus 10 another try and get it from Walmart again since they have a 15 days return policy with no restocking fee.

Its just that loud siren from the hardware was the first I have seen from any mobile device and its a known issue (see my original post). If you have Asphalt 7 car racing game (cost $0.99) installed on your N10, which btw has excellent graphics and looks really good on Nexus, play for atleast 15- 20 minutes and report back if you see any issues. This will give me some confidence boost ;)
