Returning for 32 gb

The rep was absolutely correct, what i can't believe is that people are paying $50 for a Micro SD Card. I have a 16GB blue S3 + 16GB Micro Sd = 32GB. And I think i paid $7 for the card from ebay..........People WAKE up!

YOU are not seeing this correctly.

I believe that the confusion is that the INTERNAL storage IS the SDCARD. The removeable storage is EXTSDCARD. They are not the same.

The 16 versus 32 model is the INTERNAL SDCARD storage size. INTERNAL SDCARD memory is NOT equal to the external removeable SD card that you can add. Many apps, like the gallery and music player treat them the same. They search both memories for media, and for them, yes you can simply add the internal SD card and external card for the size. But not everything treats internal memory and the external card the same. There are a couple of GPS apps that I use that ONLY store maps on the internal memory. Adding a larger card does NOT help. As noted, there are many games that consume a huge amount of internal ONLY space. I have an automatic backup program that stores backups ONLY on the internal memory. Adding a big card does NOT help.

In the end, in my case, I simply wanted more media storage. My previous phone was at the max on the 32gb card. I would be filling the 16gb phone and 32gb card quickly. I wanted a total of 64gb, and will likely even be getting a 64gb card, for a total of 96gb when this gets filled.

try telling that to the verizon reps

I just don't understand how people in sales are allowed to know nothing about what they sell. Verizon charges more money then any other company. They make a huge profit qtr after qtr. Why can't they invest some of that money in training!

All these companies suck! It gets very frustrating to deal with companies when their people know nothing about what they are trying to sell you or even fix. You can call tech support who's job is to fix technically issues with a phone and the only thing they know how to do is tell you to do a full reset and is it not just Verizon but all these sales companies today. They just do not know anything about their product because no one wants to spend the money on training.

That's why This:
Caveat Emptor. Buyer Beware.

Read the forums. Read the sites. Ask questions. Get your hands on devices. Don't rely on *Sales Reps*. The only reason you should feel dumb, is because you didn't do your homework.

I knew about this limitation when ICS came out. Because I read about it, because internal storage is very important to my current situation. Which is one reason I chose the Verizon GNex, since it gas 32 gb, all other Nexii have only 16. No EXT SD support. I will never purchase a device with less than 32, period. IMO, 32 gb should be the baseline for internal memory at this point, and I would pay more for 64. But that may not matter to you.

Knowledge is power. Increase yours.

To tell you the truth I was originally planning to get the iphone 5. The phone i was using i could barely use (droid 2 global) because the screen was broken on pieces. So some parts the touch screen worked and some didnt. So i thought might as well wait for the iphone 5 since all my friends have either the 4s or 4. Last friday the whole phone completely broke and i couldnt unlock the screen. It would turn on but now i couldnt unlock the screen so i needed a new phone. I had heard the s3 was a good phone so that was really my only option. So same day i had to do a bit of research on the phone and buy that same day. If i had originally planned on the s3 then i would have done my homework; but iphone 5 was locked in my brain.

They make money from selling you hardware at markup and trying to upsell. Why would they spend money on training employees when they make such a huge profit already? Customer service no longer matters to most companies. Most of the people at the store know next to nothing about phones compared to the average reader on a tech forum like this. They are paid to sell devices and services and their knowledge comes from minimal training, unless they happen to be a tech enthusiast themselves.
