After just 2 days, I can already tell its a great device but not what I care to pay $630 for (with taxes). I'll wait for the 16GB Sammy, Toshiba, or the Acer model.

Had issues transferring a movie (kept saying it wasn't supported no matter what), can't get LAN to work on ES File explorer, unit is definitely heavy, and I have to keep wiping off the fingerprints after an hour of use.

I think when honeycomb gets better then these Android tablets will be awesome.

BTW I'm not buying an iPad 2 either.

I hear ya. I haven't tried transferring a movie so don't know about that. It is heavy for sure. I would've liked something lighter. And the screen is a fingerprint magnet.

The new tablets that were just annoucned made me also think if I should return Xoom and wait a little bit more.

I ran into one other issue. I can't find some of the apps on Xoom. American Express app works fine on my Droid X but I can't find it in market when I search using tablet. Not sure if that app is not compatible with Honeycomb or what the issue is. We need more Honeycomb optimized apps for sure.

Wanna just sell it to me and give me the reciept? That way I don't have to get a Costco membership.

why return it to costco now?

I'd play with it for a while. I've downloaded a couple of movies from my itunes on my Mac copied from Dish network with EyeTV and they work fine. The one I bought from itunes won't.
I wish that Netflix and Google Voice worked, but they will soon!! I have faith!!
I'm learning Honeycomb, and waiting for The "Transformer" 16 hours hours!!! AND, Micro USB charging - ( What was Motorola thinking with the little plug??) You've got 90 days from the day of purshase, Play with it for a while.

It's only a $10 difference over getting it at BB, honestly. I just liked their return policy so thats why I bought it there.

You can ignore that message you know. RockPlayer Lite plays many of the movies the standard player doesn't

I always get the message of file not compatible too, but I just ignore it and copy the files anyway, and the xoom can play it anyway.

The beauty of getting it from Costco is their 90 day no question return policy. I have to be honest, I'm not a fan of the screen (very dull) so I'm debating if I want to keep it, but the more I'm using the more I'm thinking I'm going to keep it. This machine blows away my ipad, no question.

If you bought it from Costco, play with for a while, you might change your mind after a week. :)

good luck.

Plus the gel case. And I know. That's why I'd take the receipt. I could retrun it without the membership if I wanted. Hell man I'll drove to you to get it as long as you aren't out in like Conroe or Texas city or something.

Yup. Love the gel case. Well, not really, it feels funny on my hand but great protection for now until I'm 100% sure keeping it then I can get a better case.

I transferred several Disney movies over to mine the other night for my daughter and it worked great. No fuss no muss...played like a champ. Took maybe 10 minutes to xsfer the files.

You need to get the USB driver from the Motorola site. I don't have the link handy, but you can probably Google it.

I did that.

I think someone mentioned the problem occurring when you plug in to the front USB instead of the back ports that are directly on the mobo. I'll have to give it a try tonight.

It locked up my file folder window on screen and I had to stop the process C-A-D.

Okay, that can happen. I think it something to do with not enough power. I had that problem when I was flashing my phone. I switched to the back port and it works.

I've been enjoy handbrake processed 720p videos on this bad boy for nearly a week now. Fringe, SGU, and this morning The Big Bang Theories. I am loving it but I get where you come from. I am also debating if I want to return it and get the EEE pad transformer. It's the same spec, same OS, but cheaper price. I'll wait on it though. Also I really like the weight and the touch of it. It feels like I am holding a 600+ gadget.

Honestly, the size of the 8.9" sammy is really attractive to me. I also love that it'll have a great screen and USB controller on-board (for full-size USB w/ the dongle). Not to mention the lighter and thinner aspect.... However, I worry about it because it IS samsung and ergo will have bad software support.

Taking a trip at the end of the month going to pick up a xoom so I have it to play with until the tab 10.1 comes out. Costco has the best return policy.

Same here. Bought it at Costco because of their return policy. And they extend the warranty.

Just picked up my Xoom 3 days ago. I've only been able to play with it for about 20 minutes. Wifey has had it ever since. She loves the thing, and I can't get it away from her. :-)

I can agree with your gripes, but I have decided something:

If I thought tyhatg way all the time, that there was going ti be something better and better and I would just wait for that to come out, then I would never end up buying anything. There is ALWAYS something better about to be released, ESPECIALLY in the world of android.

I really enjoy using my xoom. I really like it. Much better than any I pad I have ever owned or touched. I dont regret my xoom purchase one bit. Yeah its a bit heavy, but its also made of metal (wifi only) and other great quality materials. Plus the os works great. No lag, super responsive, speedy, great battery life, good screen and the apps are rolling out for it. I'm sure that we will see an explosion of apps now that several android tablets have been announced.

I personally got this xoom to satisfy me while the dream tablet comes out: the hp toucpad. Sorry, but i love webos :-) I was also extremely impressed with what samsung did to their tablet In 3 weeks or so. And I still cant believe its thinner than the iPad. I can't wait to see that one, I wknt buy it, but its looking pretty good.
