Returning my TBolt

I am very sorry to say that after 1 week of heavy use, the Thunderbolt is not for me.

I am a huge HTC fan especially the Incredible.

I spent a lot of cash on accessories that can't be returned (seidio battery from ebay, external battery chargers etc).

The phone is amazing! LTE speeds are ridiculous, the screen is great, the kickstand is solid.

So why am I returning?

I use Swype for typing and often type with one hand, it is nearly impossible for me to do this comfortably on the TBolt.

I have no trouble typing sentences, but when it comes to editing the "Swype-o" which is a necessary evil on this type of keyboard, my thumb can not comfortably reach the suggestions.

I can deal with the truly abysmal battery life (I know some of you have had better battery life- I am a very heavy user), but Swype troubles for me are a sticking point.

This is not a design flaw of the phone, it's obviously a personal issue.

I was really excited to lock in the 4G Unlimited, and will be very upset if I miss out on that.

Hopefully the Bionic will be a slightly smaller width because of the resolution ~950x560 vs 800x480 (though initial googling suggests it will not).

The Inspire on ATT is actually ok because my thumbs are longer on that device due to the slightly thinner profile.

I sold my DInc, so I am not sure what I'll be switching to.

Has anybody else returned this fantastic device?

Why not write the developers of Swype to see if it's something they can adjust so you don't run into the same problem again? Maybe they can make it an option or something.

Phones are a very personal thing. I buy a phone because it has what I need and is able to do the things I need it to do. While the TB is a great device, if it doesn't work for you then it doesn't work for you. I understand that and wish you luck in finding one that meets all of YOUR needs.

You are loco my friend. I had the incredible and I love both phones.

If it doesn't fit his needs then it just doesn't.

Who are we to judge someone on their preference?

I chose the Dinc, and thought the X was too big and was happy I didn't hold out for it.

Some people want certain things. Why be stuck with something you are not happy with?

BTW other keyboards out there with Swype abilities.

You need to download a copy of swype for the evo phone google it and you will find it. After i installed that verision i was happy. The beta is bug heaven and it dont type right. Give it a try before returning sense you can deal with the battery issues

Thanks! I'll try that before returning.
