Reusing micro SD after adoptable storage?

I have a 16 GB Moto X Pure Edition that I need to send in for warranty service. The instructions from Motorola say to remove everything and factory reset the phone before sending in. I have a 32 GB micro SD card in the phone, which I formatted as adoptable storage. Can I now re-format that card and use it again, or is it toast because it's been formatted as adoptable storage? Thanks.

You should be able to reuse it.

I've moved mine back and forth from adoptive storage. It is currently working as portable storage

Thanks. Should I format it on my computer before reinserting it in my phone, once my phone is returned?
