When I got my Note 10.1, I immediately ordered a ReVIVE EnerG charging dock. And now I have just received my Samsung Notebook Cover for my Note.

I really like the ReVIVE dock. It has a 5200mAh battery, so it will charge my Note on the go. Like yesterday, for example, when I was in DFW airport in the middle of a couple of long flights and my Note battery was low enough that I didn't think it would make it through my next flight. If you can find a place to plug in in the airport, then you wouldn't need this. But, some times you can't find that. Or you don't have time during a layover to charge. This dock would let you charge during your flight.

This is a link to the same dock, but for Apple:

Amazon.com: ReVIVE enerG Portable 5200mAh External Battery Charge and Sync Dock Stand for Apple iPad 3 ( New iPad ), iPad 2 , iPad 1 / iPhone 4 , 4s , 3Gs and all iPods!: Computers & Accessories

I got my ReVIVE dock from Amazon, too, but they don't seem to show it available any more. I hope it hasn't gone away for good. I might want another one at some point. Like the Apple one, mine was only $24.99, which I would consider to be cheap, even if it was just a 5200mAh battery and nothing else!

The Samsung cover plus this dock is a great combo for 2 big reasons: One, the Note will fit in the charging dock with the cover on, no problem. It's like the dock was made specifically to fit with the cover on. Before my Samsung cover came, I was using an Exact cover. The Exact cover gave the Note a lot more protection, but it was definitely more bulky and the Note would not even come close to fitting in the charging dock with the Exact cover on.

And, two, unlike the Exact cover or any other cover I've seen, the Samsung cover hinge is on the top when you use the Note in Portrait mode (and have the power and volume buttons on top and the charging port on bottom). This means that you can have the Note in the ReVIVE charging dock with the cover open and it's not just laid out flat in front of the Note. It's flipped over to the back and out of the way.

My only real gripe is about the Samsung cover. The stock photos make it look like you can use the cover to prop the tablet up in Portrait mode for, for example, watching a movie. Well, you can, sort of. If you're putting it on a flat, stable surface that has enough traction for the little rubber pads on the Notebook cover to stick to, it will prop it up, like is shown in the Samsung stock photos. But, as an example, I tried propping it up on my desk, which has a glass surface. It just slides right down to flat. In fact, other than that one way to prop it up (which, as I said, is unreliable) there is no way to prop the tablet up at all. If Samsung would have at least made the cover a tri-fold, like the Belkin and the Apple Smartcover, at least you could roll it up and use it to prop the tablet up at a low angle or a steep angle - which would be way better than the one and only option this cover does provide.

My one other nit to pick is that the charging dock requires a power cable that has a mini USB connector. These days, the standard is micro USB. And, really, I would like it better if it accepted the original Samsung power cord connector, so I only had to carry around one charging cable for the tablet, which I could use with the tablet or the dock. Now, I have to carry the Samsung cable AND a mini USB cable, depending on whether I'm going to use the charging dock or not.

All in all, this cover and charger is a great combo that looks good and works pretty well.

I'm not sure what that is across the bottom of my tablet in this one. I think it's just a reflection from the camera flash off the top of the charging dock.

ps. if the charging dock had a headphone out jack, like the Samsung multimedia dock (I believe), and maybe an HDMI port, then it would really be perfect! But, alas, it does not.

Gee thanks, Stuart. I'm so glad to know about this wonderful charging dock...that I can't get.

Just because Amazon doesn't have it doesn't mean you can't get it somewhere else... I just don't know WHERE else. :)

I just realized I should put up a couple of pics of the dock by itself.

The prop part folds down and under.

So it's very convenient to throw in your backpack and take with you.

I really like the idea of having an extra power source for it. My extra Hyperion batteries have come in handy often for the Note phone. I've seen some odd shaped things that aren't really docks but chargers of some type. What makes you like this particular dock so much for a portable power source and how does it compare to something like this? Emergency Backup Portable Battery Charger 4 Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 N8010 | eBay (I'm not advocating this, just the first one I saw that said note 10.1 on it) Considering one year ago this month I spent a few days without power, I really should have something like your dock, just not sure what to look for. Can the Revive dock also charge my phone?
