Rezound now $199 Verizon online

What the crap? I paid $250 a month and a half ago.
I suppose it was imminent. The "HTC Fireball" gonna be at Verizon in a few months. If our return date is until the 15th, maybe us "early adopters" should return the phone, then re-purchase at the discounted rate.

Edit: They're doing this to punish "unlockers." It's gotta be...

How about that? I almost bought this online yesterday for $249.99, now it's a hundred dollars cheaper with my upgrade $149.95.

Wonderful, will pull the trigger now.

I bought it a month and a half ago as well for $50 on upgrade. I know some others who got it for a penny but that required a new line.

They probably have a massive surplus of rezound.

I upgraded to the GNEX and was told I had to the 15th to return it. I did return for a $35 restocking fee, then go the Rezound. Can I still get $100 credited? What should I say to the CSR, I have a feeling that aren't going to give in easily?

EDIT: Worked for me, first try. All he did was call the store to confirm the price and credited me the money on my next bill. He didn't give me any problems, all I said was I ordered the phone for $299 and I saw $100 price drop.

If you bought it through a corp store, you can call cs and receive a $100 credit.

Is this confirmed? I'm still within the extended return range. I'd like to know if anyone bought a Rezound through Verizon weeks ago and just called recently for the credit.

Ok I just got off phone with CS you will get the credit due to there 30 day price guarantee. But they won't apply the credit until after the 15th due to the extended return policy. So those who got approved will get denied and you will have to make another phone call to reinstate the rebate.

I'm in!! Just ordered my Rezound. I've been impatiently waiting for it to come down from $299 as I need to buy this one on my own (company won't cover) and my upgrade wasn't til March, so i couldn't take advantage of any Amazon, NewEgg,etc deals. $199 works great, and I should be able to sell my Incredible for hopefully $100, so a good deal!

I had just flashed my rooted Incredible to a 3.5 ROM this weekend and liked it (even had Beats working!), but the camera had issues - made the phone reboot after taking pix. So looking forward to the real deal and a faster, bigger phone!!

you will love the rezound I had the incredible and went to the droid charge and then the GN when it was released and swapped that for my rezound and haven't had one single issue and it's the best phone I've owned to date.

I had been bouncing back and forth between this and the Nexus just last week, dropping 100 bucks might have just sealed the deal for me.

Should i root before activation?

Just ordered for delivery in 2 days ($149upgrade). I'm planning on going through the unlock and rooting process before I activate the device to make sure it has no problems. I assume that would be the best, so I won't have to worry about setting it up a second time. But would the VZ bloat come back after activation?

I just ordered my phone on Sat, saw this post and called verizon. They gave me an account credit for the $100 since it was within 30 days :)

Bought mine for $300 a week before Christmas.Hope they give me a credit tomorrow when I call because this is garbage.......the thunderbolt was still $200 when I got this phone

Love to know the, non speculative, reasoning for this price drop. They had the map date in corp. stores set for the first week of March. Highly unusual for them to make a move like this. At least, this early, anyhow. I paid $299 w/ that in mind. Hope I can get some $$ back, if not, I'll return the thing, pay the restocking fee, head home and buy another one. Either way, I'd come out ahead.
