Ringer problem on OnePlus 8 Pro[Solved]

I am using a unlocked OnePlus 8 Pro on T-mobile. Recently I noticed my ringer was set in vibration mode only. I cannot change it from the drop down or go into settings and change it. The ringer volume slider in settings will not move. The up and down volume buttons only adjust volume for media. I have a ring tone selected in settings, but it does work when I call my phone.

I have sent a bug report to OnePlus, but am wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. And were you able to fix it.

No, I have not tried safe mode. Don't know how to use it or turn on that feature.

Here's how to turn on Safe Mode: www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-231358/. It temporarily disables any 3rd party app you installed to help rule that out as a possible cause.

I restarted phone in Safe Mode. Don't know what that was supposed to accomplish. I could not turn on the ringer from Safe Mode.

What it accomplished was to rule out a 3rd party app causing the problem, since you said the problem persists in Safe Mode. So that means it's a problem with either the firmware or the hardware. Do notifications make sounds? Can the phone play media (like music, or the audio from a video)?

Have you checked if the physical alert slider is stuck in Vibrate? Do you see any change if you move it up and down?

As you can see in the picture, the ringer volume slider has the open black circle which cannot be moved. The other volume sliders have the movable blue dots.

That's what happens when the physical slider is in the Vibrate position. Try to move it and see if anything changes. Also, the slider can accumulate a lot of dirt, clean in with a toothpick just in case.

Thank you Javier P and msm0511. It was the physical slider. I must have accidentally moved it while removing and putting on the case. I didn't even know what that slider did. Now I got my phone ringer back!
