Ringer Volume again

Okay so I have searched every forum I can find and the only way to make my ringer volume louder seems to be to root my phone and change it that way! I to like matt512 from an earlier post cant hear my phone ring from its case or my pocket! My 8830 curve on its lowest setting is louder than my Droid X on its highest. I have read the post on rooting my phone and Im still not all that comfortable doing that just yet. Only had the phone for 4 days! I had an app for the curve called Berrybuzz that made missed notifications remind better than all the apps that i can find for my X. Does someone know if there is something better than Easy Reminder that will actually work for more than 4 minutes before it stops reminding me? Yes I know being a newbie I deserve some razzing if I missed something to fix these problems. So fire way LOL

The official 2.2 should fix your volume. I don't know how u can fix it with root. The leaked 2.2 did make my ringer much louder. Wait it out a week or two 2.2 should be around the corner if you don't want the leak.

Will wait and see did do a couple of "hybrid" up grades to my BB still havent put my first "scratch" on the X so I will wait and see how 2.2 does thanks tntdroid

rooting alone willl not fix anything.

the leaked 2.2 upgrade has addressed the voulme issue. it is definetly louder but i think it can still be increased more.

anyway i would check you phone aroud noon today for an update......

The ringer issue whether hardware or software related must be limited to select handsets.
My Droid X is so freaking loud I have to keep it at half volume levels and I am just using stock 2.1

VZW usually pulls the trigger on an update aroun 1200 EST, but just a guess on my part

Will check it out! I wish my phone was so loud I have to turn the volume down. I was sitting in the truck the other day at a stop light and my dad was in the passenger seat couldn't hear my phone ring on the center console between us! LOL it was on his good ear side too

why not try installing a louder ring tone by using ringdroid or zedge...this may help.

I have 2.2 on my phone and used "Noisey One" for my ringtone I can here that thing on the other side of my house with pillows stacked up on it.. Well not really but you get the picture
