Ringtones and Notifications

Just switched my phone from Blackberry to Mytouch 4g.. Wife got it for me for Fathers Day.. Anyway, I copied all my ringtones from my blackberry to the SD card of the Mytouch. I can set only one ringtone, but want to set a certain ringtone for diffrent people, along with setting my notification tone.. How do I do this? THANKS

You go in your contacts app (People) and pick your contact, select "edit" and you can assign a tone.

I tried that the ring tone I added are not listed with the pre loaded ringtones

You need to place your custom ringtones in a folder on the SD card called 'ringtones'. You'll need a separate one for notifications, named in a similar fashion.

Applications and games need to be installed. To be installed they need to be a .apk file.

I use an app called RingDroid, so I use mp3 files, it lets you edit/crop the song down to the 60sec clip you wanna use, and assign it to a contact,....
My fav is when I get that opening lick to "Sweet Child O' Mine" blasting out of my phone when Im at work! ha!
