Ringtones Disappear

I downloaded a free music ringtone for my RAZR Maxx. I then opened My Music, found the ringtone in my library, played the ringtone, and saved it as a ringtone. I cleared the alert, and the ringtone is in my Downloads folder, but is no longer available in the Ringtones setting. How do I get the music file (Mp3) back to being a ringtone? Thanks.
