ringtones vs notification sounds

how can i use ringtones as notification sounds? i've never seen this separation before. i'm used to phones being able to use ringtones I make as notification sounds. i hate that i can't seem to easily do this on this phone. on the notification sounds, there's no way to add anything like there is on the ringtone sounds.

Use My Files to copy your ringtones to the "Notifications" folder.

wow thanks for that. still why do they have to make it so complicated? why separate ringtone and notification sounds when there's really no difference between the two?

If you create a series of folders with this path Media>Alarms>Ringtones>Notifications and save your sound files there, they will be available to use as an alarm, Ringtone or notification
