Roaming data speeds

I have to roam when I'm at work and I use the roam control app from the market due to bad coverage in the basement where I work. I always only roam at 1x speeds on data, that is the norm right? Is there such a thing as roaming 3 g speeds?

I've roamed on 3g before but not as often as 1x, I use the same app and I get 1x data speeds 9/10 times. If I were you I wouldn't expect 3g(roam) down in a basement, but I could be wrong.

Thanks, I have never gotten 3g roaming data I just thought since I'm roaming on Verizon I would get the 3g data speeds like my friends who have Verizon phones

I get the same thing when using Roam Control (Best App Ever). However, if my phone naturally roams, I get 3G speeds.
