Roaming for no reason - hardware or setting?

Hey I have a Note 3 that keeps roaming randomly. It was supposed to be Unlocked...

I've tried 2 different sim cards for ATT and Straight Talk and still have the same issue. Ive changed APN settings and Ive gone into Mobile Networks and manually picked the network i want to connect to - it either works for a few minutes or when I pick a network it says...

"Unable to search networks while data service is active. Do you want to disconnect the data service and search the available networks."

I pick OK and it will search for a few minutes and then register on the network. I can make calls and recieve texts for about 3 minutes then it goes back into roaming.

I've tried new sim cards. new apn settings. manually picking the network. cutting off data roaming services. Could it be an antenna missing or something?

I don't know what else to do

this isn't exactly my forte, just saw your thread/question up top. could you possibly need to update your PRL?

I thought PRL was only for CDMA phones. This is a GSM unlocked phone.
