Robin's LG G Pad 8.3 Thread

Re: anyone use launchers?

Nova Launcher. I don't see the point in the prime version, we will most likely get Lollipop soon enough and its just a waste of 4.00, imo

returning the gpad

Hi folks. I did like the g pad but weighing out the fact that the brightness of the screen suffers, plus lag when watching Netflix as well as some screen glitches...I've decided to go with iPad mini 2

Oh well, that's a shame. I hope you enjoy the iPad!

Nova Prime, just a chance to say "thanks" to the developer.

really??? I think its the best launcher, prime gives you much more. Just the gestures alone is enough for me to pay for it. I love being able to use my phone with almost nothing but gestures.

Re: anyone use launchers?

Nova Prime is far far far far far better and more flexible than the Google launcher in Lollipop, at least IMO.

from the venerable Note 3π 📱

I wouldn't say better, but it is more customizable. You have to realize that the Google Now Launcher is a vanilla stock launcher that will never have tons of options. It's not meant to. It's meant to be a simple, fast launcher that just works and looks good. People always bash the Google launcher for its simplicity, but they are completely missing the point. Google isn't in the market for customizing launchers like nova and apex.

I use Google's launcher because I just need a simple effective launcher that allows me to find my apps, and that's the great thing about Android. The fact you can choose any launcher and style no matter how ugly it looks. (90% of all screen shots of peoples customized homescreen look hideous).

However, because you CAN customize the Nova launcher doesn't mean you HAVE to. If nothing else, the Nova launcher allows multiple independent backups. What's the advantage of that you ask? Well, you can have different icon pack layouts backed up and restore them at will. So changing your look becomes almost telepathically simple.
