Roku casting broken in Android 11

Casting to my Roku stopped working on my Pixel 3a+ after the latest Android 11 update. The Pixel 3a+ now does not see the Roku device. But it continues to work on an older Android 7 phone. Also, the Roku remote app from the Google Play store no longer sees the Roku device on my Pixel 3a+ but it continues to work on the Android 7 phone. Apparently Android 11 has added security measures that block the functionality that these apps use to cast to the TV.

Any word from Google about this issue? Surely they aren't doing anything evil here, right?

I have a 4a 5G, I had no trouble with the Roku remote app this evening. I do have the July patch.

Not on a Pixel here (Samsung Note 20), but still on Android 11 (so it's not the OS), and also have no issues with Rokus (or Chromecasts). So no mysterious 'security measures' added to the OS that are blocking it. Have you made sure you're in the correct WiFi network and that you don't have any VPN/Firewall services active? Have you tried rebooting the device (sometimes just turning WiFi on/off works, too)?
