Rollout new android devices

We have purchased 30 android devices with scanners to use in our warehouses to process stock(scanning UPCs, etc). We have setup one unit and just want to clone/image the other units with the setup. Nothing fancy; using standard apps; just need the apps and passwords and network setup copied/imaged to the other units for quick setup. Amazingly I can't find something like this. Sites have mentioned "rooted" - which the vendor said not to do. And others are suggesting MDM software which is nice; but way more than what I'm looking for. Isn't there a simple answer? Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Phone cloning apps or programs can be potential security issues, so I think that's part of the reason that kind of solution isn't readily available for the regular consumer (and also why you're more likely to find an enterprise solution, like MDM software).

What sort of setup are you trying to duplicate across devices? Is it just certain apps that are installed from the Play Store? If so, then as long as each device is logged into the same Google account, each time you set a new device up with that account and choose the option to restore from a backup, it should use the same settings and install the same apps automatically.

Welcome to AC!

Hopefully those device aren't running very old Android version

Thanks They are Android 10 device. Tried the cloud backup/restore; but it didn't setup completely; it shows the apps in the settings but not on the main desktop and I had created a password for the norton app locker that isn't there. 3 apps are connect bot (with setting to telnet into another machine) no keyboard and norton app locker - all apps for the Play Store. But I would like to take the original scanner that is all setup to hand off to a user and just clone it and not have to go thru the steps of setup. It may not seem like much but X30 it is. Thanks

Hmm, I don't think I can give much more advice about this. I looked up a few phone clone apps in the Play Store, and they seemed a bit squirrelly, with reviews that seemed fake. Then there are the companies that show up in a Google search like Coolmuster, which I would also be hesitant about trusting. If you want something really trustworthy, an actual MDM solution would probably be best. Otherwise, we can wait and see if anyone else has a suggestion from personal experience.

From which OEM? I know Huawei devices come with a Phone Clone app that does a pretty good job bringing over setting on a per app basis, but it's only available for Huawei devices. Most phone manufacturers have their own type of device switching app, while others just rely on the native Android Google One backup feature.
