a: i forsure noticed a faster battery drain of 1.1. (with no changes other than flashing the rom)

b: i just installed 1.2 and everything is great except the clock is on the left side and not in the middle(this is nitpicking). ill keep an eye on my battery and stuff

Well, its definitely a tougher level of modding . I've done it for three different ROMs now and it would still probably take me a few hours of non stop work to port it, especially since its been a few months since I did it last. It requires a wide range of editing code and inserting images. The xml and image editing isn't the hard part. The toughest part is working in the .smali files, which is basically dalvik-machine code. Then getting all the resources to match takes some patience as well.

I really would love to get the notification toggles and power mod in this rom guys, but as I stated in the OP, my time for Android is severely limited right now.
Ill see if I have some spare time this weekend but I can't promise anything. On the other hand, if someone wants to research it and put out a mod, I say go for it.

Is there a book or website I can reed and learn this stuff I really want to help with th a power menu and toggles

Lol, I meant for it to be on the left. i will post a mod for center and normal when I post the signed rom.

I tried HydroRom on a fresh rooted ZVJ and was just experiencing sluggishness, unresponsiveness, and sporadic reboots. Have been on ZVH and HydroRom for quite awhile but this ROM with ZVJ just isn't worth it for me. Too many annoying things. Went to GingerRom for ZVJ and viola, a great experience so far. Thanks guys!

Can I dirty flash this on top off stock rooted zvj?

You can try it but as always please do not report any issues until you have wiped everything, reflashed and are able to duplicate the problem(s).

For those looking for a guide to add an extended power menu, here is the best I could find. It only has reboot and recovery added. All others also have a download option which would not work for us. I may try this on Sunday if no one else does.

Has anyone noticed the signal is weaker in zvj. To me it is like the iphone 4 depending on where I putt my hand determends how much signal I have

Yes, I've noticed it. I almost never have 3G since ZVJ...have to use my wifi pretty much all the time. And my signal is usually at 2 bars

That would explain the rough battery life that's been reported. Anyone feel like reverting to zvh baseband and flashing this rom to see if there is a signal difference?

my battery life has been awesome since upgrading....99 percent on par with Hydro....and my 3g signal hasn't had any problems.....just a minor glitch when people call me...sometimes my phone wont ring... weird i guess.

I would but my wife cringes when I mod my phone to much ( g1 flashed so many times the nand chip fried)

Can any of you that have any form of ZVJ test netflix. I was on ZVD and netflix was fine, and it still works on the wife's ZVD phone. The video speed is way too slow causing audio sync issues.

I've had this happen a few times too. Once the phone rang but the screen would not wake up. The screen wakeup time after pushing the power button is a little slower than my wife's stock ZVD phone. Am using GingerROM with Gingerkernel. Am about to flash my wife's phone, I'll leave the stock kernel to see if it makes a difference.

My signal was bad on zvd the past three days. Signal is slightly better with zvj

I haven't noticed much signal differences between ZVD and ZVJ. Just that on two occasions the phone did not ring and once it rang but the screen did not wake up to display the number till I used the power button.

Try upping the min clock speed. 320 is the magic number for me
