Where do I get the ed01 or ec01 modem/radio? Not finding what I need. Thank you in advance

You have to either get the official OTA from verizon or follow Adrynalyne's steps in the belolw linked thread to have the ED01 modem. There is no stand alone ED01 modem right now:

Yes the themes that say EB01 were built and tested on EB01. People however have applied those themes to ED01 without issue. This is the reason I say to backup just in case as with anything.

The ones that say ED01 were the same EB01 themes that were tested for ED01. Where as there were no issues they list it under ED01. If there were issues reported due to the different ROMs then the themer may have made some fixes / adjustments, tested and certified it for ED01.


Check out the original theme thread listed on JaeKar's page via the link. Go to the last post and move backward. I bet you will see if anyone states they tried it with ED01 and if they were successful or not.

i noticed the comm rom upped the total ram to 349mb, 10 more than SC29 made avaliable.

OK, I found a .zip for the Android Keyboard (2.1). I guess it's called "LatinIME". I put it on my SD, tried to boot it in recovery, but it doesn't do anything. Finding update .... Opening update ... Installing update .... (quits there).

Suggestions? I can put up the .zip I have (or link to where I got it) so you can double-check if it's what I need. I know this is getting a big off-topic, kind of, but I figure I started it here, might as well see it through.

LatinIME sounds like the Latin language version. I would not use that one.

Also there are like three files that get installed. You want to find the .apk file for Swype. I don't know the exact name but it should have swype and .apk in it

posted a question 20 pages ago and..just read through the whole thread and never saw an answer.. just a lot of thanks which are DEFINITELY justified (but a good thanks button push or donation could almost cut this thread by a 1/3), and feel we need a separate thread for praise, and commonly repeated questions with this release... they are bogging down the thread from real issues.. not trying to be a downer or a bummer, just lots of "bloat" in reading to find answers.. and have a genuine concern for peope's with real problemo's.. :0

Next issue, Android keyboard? I've grown partial to it. Don't like the way gingerbread feels or samsung looks.

I checked, but didn't see a zip floating around anywhere.

I miss the android keyboard too. and the ad blockers in superclean. I forgot about ads in the apps until now

My repost from 20 pages ago.. I saw that Shark said the TW launcher.zip from 2.9.2 will work over this, but does this hold true to the other patches from 2.9.2..i.e. Thinkfree, Nuance, etc.. I thought they had updated Nuance for ED01...to improve voice recognition or something.. so I didn't know if there would be a new .zip for the updated nuance.. I was hoping for some good ole' AOSP bt voice dialing... but you can't always get what you want..

If they won't work, will there be patches posted on the op (apart from those currently listed...mms/1.1/etc)?

AHA! Do I get to call you names too? I switched to Comavolt while I was testing figuring the team would maybe want info on how the ROM reacted with a different kernel. No problems whatsoever. I am going to try my hand with nemesis' kernel and the voltage settings though to see if I can tell a difference. But that won't be for a couple of days as I have to use my phone to put the ODIN packages together. So no trying out a sweet, stable set up for a while.

I think I am going to flash Comavolt and give it a try... I have always been happy with it. Want to learn more about Voltage Control before I start playing around with the OTB Kernel.

I am assuming you are using the ED01 radio that came with the ROM? Or did you flash back to EC01?

Pull the APK from the ZIp and move it to your SD and install the app.

im running EB01 SC2.92 voodoo EC01 radio cwm 3/30 fix all from the 4/11 cwm confussion clean up post so all im looking at is a simple dl and move com rom to sd wipe factory reset cache and dalvik flash of the com rom and im good right

I did a full data wipe and installed KangBang. I have ThinkFree Office and I did not have to flash it afterwards.

As for Nuance I don't have it. I would think you could flash it as it is not verizon specific. Should work and if not should not cause any issues. Just in case as always create a nandroid backup. Give it a shot. If it works report it back so others may benefit.

I think the only way to know for sure if the patches work is to flash them. If they don't work, the only one who would be able to give you an answer on more patches being posted would be Adrynalyne. Sorry buddy, that's the best I can do for you right now. He's splitting his time between 3 or 4 phones (and trying to keep the wife from cracking his skull with a baseball bat as evidenced by the wording on his donation link )

I thought comm rom came with the EC01 modem. My baseband reads EC01. I haven't had a chance to go through the steps yet to go to official ED01 so I can run that modem. Is anybody who didn't come to the comm rom from stock ED01 either OTA or through Adrynalyne's method showing a baseband of ED01?

I just loaded the nuance.zip suppplied in the evil fascination rom thread. Seems to work fine. Thinkfree is there too but I have always just added the .apk to the app folder and rebooted. I think last time I loaded it, it was the DL09 dump. Any froyo will probably work.

dont factory reset... just a cache wipe and dalvik wipe is fine

enable lagfix

reboot

Do you use bluetooth for anything..if so can you try to voice dial from from your bt device sans nuance and see if it works? If not it will say something to the effect of " Not supported" or "No voice commands software could be found" ( One of the listed general feature improvements to Froyo is "voice dialing".....Fascinate has an earmark..."With third party software...." ugh..

If not no problem, I'll be hoppin on the KangBang bus in a couple days and report what I find then..

Two finals and a unit test on Molecular Geometry are all that separate me and kang bang..

oh ok... didnt realize that. I knew that there wasn;t a stand alone ED01 radio yet, but for some reason I thought it was in this rom (I guess it was only for those who OTA'd the official one)... I odin'd back to EC01 after flashing the com rom

y not factory reset has something changed from the OP were its recommended to factory reset ? im already running voodoo and the kernel that comes with the rom so i shouldnt need to enable the lagfix correct and i shall enjoy any work comming from this brilliant crew of developers and testers and bright minded advice givers
