[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

this may have been answered else where, and i apologize for redundancies, but i'm having the same recurring problem when trying to use the newest OTB v1.4 kernel.

even when just installing the rom package (includes the kernel), i get stuck at the samsung logo upon reboot. i've cleared cache, dalvik, voltage settings, blah blah blah, all the things i'm supposed to do (including full data wipe); no results.

running OTB v1.3 works great, but i like to stay as up to date as possible.

i'm using CWM 3.xxxx OTB (red).

voodoo is enabled and has been checked. am i missing something?

OK but from what I've seen this is not an Odin package an should be installed from the SD card. So is there a different package than the community_rom_1.3_test2.zip?

Did you try redownloading the rom, or kernel and trying? Could be a bad download.

I have made ODIN packages, but if you know what you are doing flashing things in CWM, you can use the community_rom_1.3_test2.zip. If you aren't certain on how to use CWM, just click the link in my signature below to go to DroidXcon's great how to on using CWM. It includes screenshot visual aids. Just be aware that Comm ROM is using a voodoo kernel, so make sure you understand voodoo and the most important rule of using voodoo which is never flash a nonvoodoo kernel over a voodoo kernel without first disabling lag fix. So I used the Samsung SMS patch and everything went fine, but when I text over 160 instead of carrying over the message it just uses "@" symbols.

in tsm parts, under lockscreen, there is a spot for a custom app. Click that and choose your messaging app.

Try removing all previously saved wifi networks, hard boot.

If that fails, I'd re-flash and possibly re-flash modem.

I use LauncherPro (paid version) as the launcher. I have LP Calendar widget running.
After I installed Com Rom 1.3, calendar alerts crashes every time I get an alert, so I miss the notification.

Not sure if it is due to com rom or due to the new launcher pro version.
How do I debug? Please advise. Thanks (calendar alerts is very important for me, as I 4 to 5 conf calls a day and need that notification.)

Another weirdness I have noticed is that when I try to delete pictures from gallery, it does not delete it. It just sits and waits there, showing the circle. This is not too important as I usually download all my pictures while syncing and will delete the ones I do not want on my desktop.

When you flashed ComRom, did you do a data wipe both before and after the flash? I know that not doing that has been causing wonkyness (official term) for a lot of people. If you did, I would try uninstalling and redownloading LP+ from the market.

I didn't wipe my data at all and my calendar Doesn't give ne any problems. I'd go back and wipe cache, dalvik, voltage (3 times each) and flash again. hope that helps.

There is a calendar patch that will fix your woes..

wipe your cache's and flash this in recovery..

Thanks for this wonderful ROM, what an amazing product. you are all doing gods work here

Constructive critisism if there is an update around the corner.
1 i think the voltage control app is set too low by default at 100mhz which sometimes crashes fascinates. is it possible to set the minimum at 200mhz.

2 the calendar fc notification when appointment time comes up. (will try this patch soon, if i can figure out how to install it.

3 with the lock screen style... if i chose 4 tab lock and chose tsm it reboots the phone. if i chose miui and select the message bubble to unlock the phone it also forces a reboot.
