[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

Another question...Is this on CWM 3 (edify) and I am gonna assume that it is rooted already...

You can still use the 03/30 cwm-all-fix. There aren't enough roms, themes, etc. converted to edify script yet to make it worth switching to cwm 3.0. Stick with red for now until there are enough things written in Edify

I turned it off in the notification bar and through menu/settings/display and it rotates on both homescreen and app drawer ..I tried a reboot after turning it off to see if it'd fix it but it still rotates for me ..it's not an issue for me but it does still rotate

I use launcher pro, if you turn that option off in launcher pro, it will only rotate in apps and such, and when I turn the phone rotation off while still using launcher pro, it doesn't rotate at all. Maybe this will help you our someone who doesn't like the rotation.:)

I have a friend with a non-rooted Fascinate who wants to flash Community. Can he go directly to Community or will he have to start with a different ROM first then flash Community?

First I would reccomend to flash ED01 radio.

Then flash CWM all fix.

Then community rom.

Can go directly to community ROM, but if your friend is still on Eclair, will need to wipe data, cache, and dalvik before flashing. If you friend got the OTA, just wipe cache and dalvik before flashing.

In order to flash the ED01 radio, he will have to follow Adrynalyne's instructions and ODIN to DL09, flash zip file to move up to EA28, flash zip file to move up to ED01, then he will have ED01 radio. If he wants to go through all those steps, more power to him. Otherwise it's easier to flash the EC01 radio

Yeah true.

My phone for some reason just likes ED01 more than EC01, don't know why.

You're not the only one. A lot of people seem to be getting slightly better results from the ED01 radio over the EC01 radio. Unfortunately there is no stand alone flashable ED01 radio yet.

What is the standard voltage setting for this kernel? Is it undervolted at all? If not, I'm looking for a setting similar to the comavolt, which option would I use for that in the voltage control app?

This seems like too much. I am enjoying the Deodexed/Debloated version of ED01 and I am quite happy. But battery life is the kicker for me. If the battery life on this is better, i might be joining!

To me, I think it is worth the flash to stock. But for some, they don't want too.

And I do not know much about voltage control and kernels at all....can you give me a suggestion of what you think is the best setting?

Its says that you may need to wipe data.

Tried that as well. I actually wiped everything before I flashed the community rom. I guess I should mention that I was on a nonvoodo kernel before this. Man this is frustrating. Flashed ED01 package via odin, flashed CWM 3-30-FIX via odin, rebooted into CWM, cleared data, wiped cache, cleared dalvik cache, flashed rom, enabled lag fix, and rebooted.

Do I need to select /system lagfix on or off?

Just flash in CWM all, enable lagfix, and thats it.

And you can't tell battery life yet since it hasnt even been out for a day.

I have not done anything with voltage control either, so we will all be learning as we go. Check out nemesis2all's kernel thread over at XDA, it will have the standard suggested voltage settings, and numerous people have posted the voltage settings that have worked for them.

thanks for the info, but like I said, it's not an issue for me ..I didn't even notice it until it mentioned in a previous post ...I have launcher pro but I'm likin the tw right now

Just Flashed with no issues. First time running a voodoo kernel. Not sure if the difference in speed is the Rom or the Kernel, but me likey. Once again big thanks to the entire Fascinate community for all of their input and help to make this phone great. Also bigger thanks to the devs for putting the time in to get it done. They do this for free, and I sincerely appreciate all the time you guys put in.

The speed comes from the voodoo kernel.

The data wipe in between steps is what messed you up. Try powering down phone, flash EC01 radio, close ODIN, pull usb cord, reopen ODIN, attach usb cable, flash cwm 3-30, close ODIN, pull usb, put battery back in, hold 3 buttons to boot directly to cwm, wipe cache and dalvik only, flash community rom, enable lag fix before rebooting, reboot.
