[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

Is there a way for me to Odin this rom and then lay touchwiz over it? I know it's not pure google juice buti like it. Thank to the devs and the community, strong work!

There is not currently a way to ODIN this ROM, it must be flashed in CWM. Once you do that, there is a CWM flashable patch in Adrynalyne's superclean thread for the TW launcher. It was designed for EB01, but may work. If you get any problems you can always just flash the full community rom to wipe away the TW patch.

I just went from sc 2.9.2 to this community rom did v 1.0 and then the patch. I have noticed that when i try to send a text to some of my contacts their number does not come up. I checked my contacts and their number is in there but it wont come up when trying to send text. I synced my contacts from google and still no luck. Wondering if anyone is having same issue. Sorry if this has been pointed out already. I also fixed permission and rebooted.

ok just to make sure i have the correct steps down. i have the comm rom saved on the sd card. when i go into cwm i clear the 2 caches first before installing the zip from sd card correct? and after it installs, reboot at which point it'll convert the partition to voodoo?

then after it boots up i can go back into cwm to apply the 1.1 patch and any addons (ie samsung mms app) that i want.

thanks

Sounds like you've got all the right steps

think I missed it in this thread (it is not in the OP) but... what kernel is being used in this ROM? Just curious!

Also... has anyone been using other kernels with this as well? If so... thoughts so far?

I'm an idiot.... don't know how I missed that... thanks bud. Are you running this kernel or are you still on ComaVolt... I know you really enjoyed that kernel

disabling the lagfix converts the system partition back to normal right?

disregard, found the answer :)

thanks all

If you were on nonvoodoo before flashing the community rom and want to stay on nonvoodoo, disabling lag fix before reboot just stops the partitioning conversion from happening. So your kernel will not convert you to voodoo.

I'm not sure if this is happening to anyone else but on the themed swype keyboard the microphone key for voice to text is not working? It says no matches found or error Try again.

someone mentioned in this thread about the comm rom not showing the batt % in the notification bar like SC29 did and someone mentioned an addon that would allow you to have it back. anyone remember what it was?

I don't know why someone would have mentioned that. The comm rom includes quite a bit of nitsuj17's gingerbread theme which includes an accurate battery mod. My battery icon in the notification bar shows the percentage. There was no such accurate battery mod with the ED01 debloated/deodexed/debinged ROM.

Which launcher did DXC have for the sc292 ROM? That's what I'm after. I am THRILLED(!!!!!) with the Samsung keyboard/mms patch! Just need that old launcher and I'm good to go!

Tried LauncherPro but I don't much care for the layout. I dig the current (COMROM) layout, but really dislike the auto-rotate of the home screens (desktop?) I don't want to turn off A-R because I like the feature in sms and browsing.

Go to:

Menu > Settings > TSM Parts

the battery icon should be showing a percentage value. Also in the above settings there is one labled "Battery Percentage" put a check mark there and you will see the percentage settings separate from the battery icon. You can also hide the battery icon and just show the battery percentage.

I don't believe DXC did anything with a launcher in his ODIN packages. He just packaged up the ROM / Kernel in a way to make it easier for new folks to get to a custom setup. SC292 used a Touchwiz launcher and from what I can tell it is pretty much the same in this version.

Are you talking about a launcher you may have gotten with an applied theme?

As for for the auto-rotate SC 2.9.2 had the same feature as well. I am not sure what you smoked for breakfast but I would like some please :-X

My swype patch worked fine, but the keyboard has lines all over it, what is that?

How can I put the other one back?
