I'm currently running v2.3 can I flash 2.5 right ontop without wiping everything?

I've been having a weird issue with google earth on 2.3 where it wont install.

For some reason I cant even get mybackup to work, it keeps telling me it can't authinticate.. seems like I've been getting a lot of errors with v2.3, any advice on how to back my apps up with it? I tried installing/uninstalling

get titanium backup. it's the bee's knees. oh, and donate when you do. definitely worth. my God is it worth it.

in the mean time. make a nand backup and just try to flash 2.5 over 2.3. KSmithInNY is one of the devs and he says don't do it, but if it doesn't work you can then just restore your backup.

Try titanium backup and make sure you read this entire thread first. Some great advice has been shared on how to use TB with Froyo by i believe utnick (maybe some LiquidJesus too?). I have nothing against mybackup but Joel, the DEV of TB, is a real standup guy who also happens to make an amazing software.

your apps are backed up in the market for you so it would only be a matter of redoing the settings. As i said in an earlier post, i don't use any form of backup software. I can download and re-setup all 15 or so of my essential apps within a minute or two so doing it manually or using TB shouldn't be much more than a few minute time investment on your part.

Hey todivefor,

Nick is giving you some great advice that should get you settled but i wanted to take a moment and elaborate a little.

1) The wireless tether app is a battery hog on any ROM. It killed my hero (donut, eclaire), it kills my EVO (eclaire, froyo), and it kills my brothers Vibrant. Unfortunately that app is an extremely intense process for the phone. The good news is that because of all the battery tweaks and twists we've made ... you'll get great battery life on this ROM period.

2) Regarding you're connectivity issues. Have you tried using wifi analyzer (free in the market) to check for a clean channel around you? Connecting through a dirty channel (read - too much traffic) can cause connectivity issues with Wireless Tether. What you should do is use the above mentioned app to find a nice clean channel, then in the settings menu of wireless tether, switch to that channel. FYI, Wireless Tether is on 6 by default which is a heavily utilized channel. Lots of people were having an issue with connectivity due to the channels so thats why in PRE 8 the ability to change channels in WT was introduced.

Music plays when I take our the earphones...help!

Here is my problem...I listen to podcasts on google listen on wired earphones, then pause the podcast, and when I pull out the earphones music starts playing on the speaker from the samples on doubletwist. I have gone thru the menu settings on the phone and doubletwist to see if it is a setting...but cannot find any. This did not happen before i flashed my rom with AC-ROM-v.2.5-LITE. Is anyone else having this problem? And if so...did you figure it out?

Not sure but ill try to test something tonight to see if it happens to me and what the issue is.Could you try a couple things just cause i don't have a evo around right now,can you do these things to trouble shoot.
1) uninstall doubletwist,reboot then plug in headphones and then stop music and unplug see if the prooblem happens.
2) Since flashing have you added apps that you didn't have installed before 2.5,if so try removing those to see if its one of those apps causing the issue.

Just did 1...uninstalled doubletwist, rebooted, plugged in headphones, listened to android central podcast, stopped it, and unplugged the headphones...walla the problem is gone. But then I realized I don't have any music playing app
Will reinstall doubletwist and see if I still have the problem.

Lite version has pretty much every apk listed in the bloat document attached to post #2 removed. Anything thats included in the change log on post #1 has been done to both ROM's.

After reverting back to 2.1 and rerooting my phone, this was the first rom I installed. Been drooling over this one.

So far it is freaking amazing.

Only problem I had so far was the live wallpaper seemed to slow down the phone a tad.

I am excited to see the battery life improvement.

My battery life is awesome. I really like the smooth icons. Battery percentage in the icon is awesome, no need for an extra app for that anymore. Support is great and the ROM is rock solid. I haven't had any ROM-related force closes at all.

I agree..this is my first custom rom and I like it...I have 1 issue tho. While redoing all my settings and updating things, seems that Sprint TV will not update, even tho there is one available..Anyone else have that issue?

Also, is there any tweaks I can do to improve the speed of the wifi tethering? Im looking at about .33mbps down and 0 up lol...somethings gotta be wrong.

Hey guys if there is a update for sprint tv then it will have to be cooked into the rom.The way we have things set up for easy removal makes it so that the sprint apps can't be updated thru sprint.We'll do our best to get ya'll the update asap.

i think there is a Football update as well. sorry, i know i should have looked for one on my own so i will.

Before anyone mentions it, Sprint released an updated version of visual voicemail and NASCAR. We have both new apk's and they are included in our next ROM.

- If you want the new NASCAR send a text to 7777 with the word nascar in it
- The visual voicemail is an optional upgrade. Just click cancel because the download will fail. Our next ROM will include it.

this works for the football app, too.

yar about the football app...that also works with the nascar app...

I did switch channels a few times and got away from 6, same slow speeds. Ill have to try this again soon outside in my backyard. Normally being in the house yields me wonderful regular speeds on my phone.
