[ROM] AC-ROM-Froyo 2.2

Would everyone want stock apps(bloatware) removed?

Question. I installed 2.6 and I'm bleeding battery again. I can sit and watch it go down. Any ideas?

Clean install. Full wipe and all.

It's an app you have installed (probably). Stock AC-ROM with no apps from the market installed and a standard setup (weather on, gps on, network location on, Bluetooth off) will drain at just under 1% per hour.

Also remember your first 10% will drop in front of your eyes. That's not us, It's HTC.

And ... yes .... we actually monitored the voltage of a still standing phone :p

Ok,
I know we went over this once before but how do I find that program?

Don't download it in your phone. Use your PC.

Were open to accepting a donation of free server space with unlimited bandwidth so we can join clockwork but were not willing to pay for it.

I did and it would stop on the middle, where can I donate to?

I had something weird happen. I loaded the new AC Rom and after everything was set up, I went into recovery and did a nandroid backup. After doing the backup, I rebooted and now it doesn't remember my password. I keep putting in my unlock password, which was working before I went to recovery and it doesn't recognize it. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with the ROM, but anyone have any ideas about what to do?

That happened to me last night too. Just keep trying.

same thing just happeened twice, i cant download this rom off this host :(

well tried it again this AM and it worked.

im all about moving the bloatware, can i just open the zip file delete the apks and then load it?

if not what do i have to do?

Just wanted to let anyone with this problem know that I ended up going into recovery (holding down volume button while pushing power button), wiping data and reflashing the AC-ROM and everything is working fine now. When I tried restoring the last nand backup it still had the wrong password, although I believe that earlier backups are fine but of course do not have AC Rom 2.6.

ummmmmm depends on what you want to remove. Some applications will have consequences associated with them. An example is, if you remove friendstream, but don't remove HTCFacebook.apk, then try to sync a facebook account, youll burn your battery out quickly. Same goes for peep, and flicker. another example is deleting all the weather files will cause your phone not to receive location assistance from cell towers. Deleting the HTCLockScreen will cause your phone to not be able to dismiss alarms. I could go on and on for days.

Many files have many dependences on other files and unless you know and understand these files and how they are associated, you could do something that you may not like.

After reading that you still think you want to give it a go, 7zip is the tool to use but i caution you that changing and manipulating any files would result in us not being able to provide assistance other than "wipe and flash full ROM". We cannot support the potential 1000's of variations of this ROM that people could create as that circumvents our testing procedures.

Shoot me a PM with what you want to remove and I'll see if I can spot any potential problems.

hey thanks for the info, i went ahead and wiped my phone, and loaded this rom.

i removed all sprint crap besides qik, then i removed tweeter, peep, stock, most widgets then the widget settings file,amazonmp3, and thats about it.
i read the bloat.txt and knew that removing certain things would cause problems.

i did remove the lock screen to see the other one, which is cool, but i saved the old lock apk to put it back if need be.

but other then that, im enjoying this update, ill let you know if i have any problems down the road, but the only thing that i removed that was suggested not to was Stock, so i dont know what might happen...

i restored apps with titanium backup donated vrs.

also are these the most up to date google apps?

i didnt flash radio or anything, speed tests seem a little better then usual.
newest radio,177 pri and 671 prl.

Should be nothing. Removing stock used to cause an issue with making accounts and sync FC but I believe that might have been corrected with this new OTA. In some quick tests i was able to remove stock without causing the accounts and settings screen to FC. You might want to pop the screen open and verify.

I think the only one thats not the most up to date is maps but when you open the market you'll be prompted for an update. They released a newer version since we released 2.6

If your current radio setup works for you then stick to it. A lot of DEV's would have you believe you must upgrade. It's simply not true. We provide the radio/PRL flash so those that want to upgrade can, but it's not in any way a requirement. Do what works best for you.

Cheers!

FC?

thanks for the help, this is the only rom i will ever use, i used bakedsnack for 1 day and quickly went back to this rom, its the closest to stock but with the tweaks and ability to do what you want, its great, stable and fast.

great work!

as for the radios and PRI i had updated to the 1.40 PRI and it KILLED my speeds, so i was reluctant to update to the 1,77, but im glad i did, because my speeds really increased after that update, im using the newest radio and have noticed i lost signal more then often but nothing for me to switch back.

Guys I'm still dropping battery like mad. How do I find what app is sucking it off?

Probably not the most elegant way of saying that but funny none-the-less!

HERE is a link to a thread that someone was having wakelock issues which were wasting battery. Ultimately the user found the problem to be Facebook but still good advice.

Another thing you can do is check spareparts (thanks gbhil) which is included in the ROM. This will give you valuable information regarding your battery and it's usage.

This is a problem we inherited from HTC/Sprint. I see some ROM developers are actually reverting back to the vending.apk file that was included with the very first froyo RUU for EVO because this file seems to have less issues. There are multiple workarounds for it ....

So far i have the best luck, when after flashing a new ROM i setup my Google email account immediately during the setup process. I can pretty much duplicate the problem at will. If i flash a ROM after a full wipe and don't setup my gmail account during the HTCSetupWizard, When i go into the market later after setting it up i will have issues. If i do setup my account immediately, then let the phone rest a minute or two while it sync's completely, it works fine. Typically if you wait them out whatever you're trying to download will eventually download and install.

Another workaround is, if you are having an issue, do the following ...
Menu > settings > Applications > manage applications > click the "all" tab > Scroll down to market > click force stop, click clear cache, click clear data. Now go back and open up the market. You will have to accept the agreement again as if you've never opened the market but that should do it.

It's sporadic at best, not everyone has issues which makes it kind of an elusive thing to chase down. YMMV on the above workarounds but these are the current methods floating around on the interwebs.

my weather wont show up either, says no weather data available..
Assuming you didn't remove any of the essential files for weather to function (there's like 5 i think) and assuming you have your set your phone to use the wireless network for location purposes, weather will work just fine.

it was a data issue, i made a post about it,
other ppl were having the same data issues, its wierd, it happened twice today where i had no gtalk and it would not connect.

when this happens weather will not update, market will not download, but internet and email still works like usual, i dunno what the deal is.

i always setup my phone normall when flashing a new rom.

wifi, everything worked fine.

I've continued to have data issues with regard to Gtalk and market.

It seems to be getting worse amd now my phone is starting to reboot itself often now.

This is unacceptable.

I dont know what to do,i never had these issues with 2.5.
