I'm hoping someone can help. I rooted my EVO back with 2.1, and left it that way when 2.2 came out due to the issues others were having with the camera and the wifi tether. I got busy and didn't bother to keep up with all the posts to see whether the issues got fixed until today when I got the pesky 'mandatory voicemail upadate'. So, I decided to go ahead and flash the 2.2 rom in this thread using the Rom Manager app, which was surpisingly easy. However, my wifi tethering app doesn't seem to work now. It looks like it's working - the app loads fine and it says it's tethering. But when I try to connect my ipad to the phone, it takes a long time to connect and when it does I have a 1-bar signal (even when the phone is right next to the ipad) and it says I'm not connected to the internet. Also, when I try to connect using my macbook, it shows the phone as a 'device' rather than a wifi network. I tried uninstalling the wifi app from the phone, reinstalling it, and rebooting the phone. Same problem though. I tried downloading 'Barnacle Wifi Tether' to the phone, which installed fine on the phone, but it doesn't show up at all on my other devices. Please help!
Update:
I tried flashing the radio and wimax using the rom:
EVO_Radio_2.15.00.09.01_WiMAX_26023_R01_PRI_NV_1.7 7_003 - Includes latest Radio, WiMAX, PRI & NV
It seemed to improve the signal a little, but it still doesn't let me connect to the internet. I can connect to the internet using the phone no problem though. My software information reads:
