zipalign

zipalign is an archive alignment tool that provides important optimization to Android application (.apk) files. The purpose is to ensure that all uncompressed data starts with a particular alignment relative to the start of the file. Specifically, it causes all uncompressed data within the .apk, such as images or raw files, to be aligned on 4-byte boundaries. This allows all portions to be accessed directly with mmap() even if they contain binary data with alignment restrictions. The benefit is a reduction in the amount of RAM consumed when running the application.

Congrats on the promotion.

Well not sure why, but setcpu says my ROM does not allow root permission, so I can't edit anything or change anything in setcpu.

awh this was the first rom I had the onions to install lol. Now I gotta weed thru all the stuff I dont want/need over at XDA and give those a shot I guess

Thank you all for the hard work putting this together for us. Its been stable and the most trusted rom I had the chance to use.

Frame Rate with AC Rom?

Qualcomm benchmark only shows 28.3. I was thinking it would be over 30 fps. Am I wrong?

I know that in the latest version of AC ROM (2.8, and even in 2.7 I think) the FPS fix was included. They used the latest HTC kernel which includes the fix.

Check out calkulin rom over at xda. It's a great Rom.

I'm hoping someone can help. I rooted my EVO back with 2.1, and left it that way when 2.2 came out due to the issues others were having with the camera and the wifi tether. I got busy and didn't bother to keep up with all the posts to see whether the issues got fixed until today when I got the pesky 'mandatory voicemail upadate'. So, I decided to go ahead and flash the 2.2 rom in this thread using the Rom Manager app, which was surpisingly easy. However, my wifi tethering app doesn't seem to work now. It looks like it's working - the app loads fine and it says it's tethering. But when I try to connect my ipad to the phone, it takes a long time to connect and when it does I have a 1-bar signal (even when the phone is right next to the ipad) and it says I'm not connected to the internet. Also, when I try to connect using my macbook, it shows the phone as a 'device' rather than a wifi network. I tried uninstalling the wifi app from the phone, reinstalling it, and rebooting the phone. Same problem though. I tried downloading 'Barnacle Wifi Tether' to the phone, which installed fine on the phone, but it doesn't show up at all on my other devices. Please help!

Update:
I tried flashing the radio and wimax using the rom:
EVO_Radio_2.15.00.09.01_WiMAX_26023_R01_PRI_NV_1.7 7_003 - Includes latest Radio, WiMAX, PRI & NV
It seemed to improve the signal a little, but it still doesn't let me connect to the internet. I can connect to the internet using the phone no problem though. My software information reads:
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband version: 2.15.00.09.01
Kernel version: 2.6.32.15-g0f673ed htc-kernel@u18000-Build-149 #10
Build number: AC-ROM-v.2.8
Software number: 3.30.651.2
Browser version: WebKit 3.1
PRI Version: 1.77_003
PRL Version: 60670

Odd Problem with Latest AC-Rom

Ok. So, I'm a Saints fan (who dat!) and it's Christmas time. So, I bought a Santa Saints hat. Well, I was going to take a new profile pic for my FB page and so I get out my trusty EVO and switch to the front facing cam. So, I take the perfect pic and then I notice something. The word Saints on the front of my Santa hat actually says "stnias" on the cap. I take the cap off and look at it to see if it was defective but no. So, I take another pic thinking it was a fluke. Same thing. I reboot the phone and take another one, and same thing. Anyone else notice this problem with the AC-ROM. It worked fine on the 2.7 version. If I can't get it fixed, it's ok. I'm going to flash the ROM to something new here soon anyways since the AC-ROM is no longer being developed.
