Would everyone want stock apps(bloatware) removed?

I now have another minor problem. There is a persistent notification to update Visual Voice Mail even though it is up-to-date. How do I clear this up?

If i had to guess, when you used titanium you restored the VVM from AC2.5 thereby restoring an old VVM.apk. Reflash 2.7 overtop of itself and that should replace the VVM with the most current one.

That didn't work. I went to manage applications and did "clear Data" on voicemail application. That got rid of it until I rebooted. In notification, I have, "A mandatory update is now available." I click it and get, "upgrading voicemail application" and then "installation failed." VVM is V.5.1.0.34.

Sprint released an update. I can have a flashable zip shortly.

EDIT - Hmmmm, I just installed the update right through the app, no failure, no issue. I am now on VVM version T.5.1.0.48

I'm at work so I cannot create a zip, it would get encrypted. I have attached the apk to this post. If someone wants to take that apk and put it in a flashable zip that would be nice. I wont be at home in front of my PC until 8pm tonight so if its not done by then I'll do it.

That was going to be my next question, why it wouldn't update. I just tried again several times from within the app. No go.

No biggy. I can wait.

Thanks for your help.

I just flashed this on a new EVO. When I got the EVO yest I turned on 4G and picked up a network right away. I'm right outside downtown Minneapolis so shouldn't have a problem. My signal strength for 4G read 'fair' I believe. Well I flashed this ROM, have set up everything how I like, flashed new radios, then did a profile update, but 4G does not work. I can turn it on but it just sits in 'scanning' mode. Any idea what the issue might be?

Can anyone help on this 4G issue? Does 4G go down in areas sometimes? I know I got it with the stock setup, so just wondering what I can try to get it now that I have root and AC ROM, I can't ever seem to get a 4G signal.

Have you tried flashing the wimax radio again and seeing if that helps get it going?

I flashed with the combo: EVO_Radio_2.15.00.09.01_WiMAX_26023_R01_PRI_NV_1.7 7_003

Is there a place I can check to see what I have, to see if the flash took? I did an update profile after flashing, but not update PRL, do you have to do both?

Also I see it says, "Must be NAND unlocked(S-OFF) to flash" I don't know what this means, I just followed the instructions in the txt attached in this thread. I guess I'll try just flashing the EVO_WiMAX_26023_R01 tonight when I get home (it shows good 4G coverage there on the map plus that is where I connected with stock without problem, it doesn't show where I work as having coverage in-building).

I used simple root with amon-ra recovery to root, so not sure if that means I have NAND unlocked(S-OFF) or not. Would I need to use ra-recovery and flash unrevoked-forever to get this or do I already have it?

Also when I boot into hboot it says I have Radio 2.15.00.09.01, so I assume the flashing of the latest worked when I flashed the combo...

Here's the new SprintVVM in a flashable zip.

Flashed the flashable zip, now I have no VVM at all. I got the prob message on my homescreen where VVM used to be, removed it, and tried re-adding it. Can't find it. Searched app drawer, not there. Looked at /system/app and /data/app, not there.

I see com.coremobility.app.vnotes-2.apk (I was expecting something like sprint-voicemail, but this the apk that KSmithInNY provided) in /data/app/app. This doesn't seem right to me.

I had the same issue after I flashed the zip. I searched for the .apk and installed it after the flash and reboot and everything with VVM seems to be working fine now.

IDK if this has been answered for you or not, but when you are in the bootloader (the white screen with the options for fast boot, recovery, etc), you will see at the top where it says S-OFF or S-ON.

Uuugghh! I flashed this rom...installed the new vmm apk from this thread and still no voicemail app. Does anyone have the full version of the app instead of just the update?

Hey Beezy, check my other thread. I got the actual app off of another forum and it gave me back the original vm application. Then, I tried flashing over the top to get the update and it didn't work. So, I pulled the apk from the zip and used adb install to try and get it on my phone when it gave me a message saying that the failure was due to it already existing.

C:\Users\IndyaBuckley\Desktop\android\tools>adb install c:\com.coremobility.app.
vnotes-2.apk
763 KB/s (1219440 bytes in 1.559s)
pkg: /data/local/tmp/com.coremobility.app.vnotes-2.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS]
