[ROM] Android Open Kang Project

I know the first boot on a new ROM can take longer than usual, but I have been on the Google screen for about 10 minutes. I already pulled the battery, re-wiped everything and re-flashed the ROM and GAPPS - same result. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Sounds like you may have a bad download.. do you have a backup that you can restore?

Yes, just restored. I had been downloading roms directly to my phone, but this time used my computer and dragged the zip to my gnex. Is there a right or wrong way to that?

That's usually the best way IMO. Did you check the md5?

Now I can really sound like the noob I am... How do I check the md5?

Never mind, I figured out how to check the md5. Now I just compare the one I downloaded to the one listed on the AOKP site?

Exactly. If the md5 values do not match, don't flash file as you have a bad download.

The values are different. I re-downloaded and they were different again. I'm downloading directly from the AOKP mirrors. Is there a reason this may be happening?

The AOKP team reported a server problem on Twitter earlier so that may be the issue. There are probably mirror links on the Rootzwiki thread.

nexus 7 i would guess in 1.5-2 weeks.

i would give m6 a shot but i am on the jb bootloader and dont feel like flashing back. and jelly belly 2.5 is pretty smooth.

i am literally dying tho for jb source and some aokp reboot jb love.

If you've been current with the builds, m6 is mostly bug fixes. Unless something isn't working (or you're dying to flash something), you're fine sticking with an earlier build.

Looks like going back to B40, issue I'm having with M6 is I can't get home key to actually go home.

Flashed Ms 6. First apps were stopping causing fc's but now nice and stable. Not even using Franco for a kernel and am getting better battery life without it.

I'm not even considering going back to ICS, which was phenomenal. Jelly Bean added almost everything I wanted from before, and Google Now is damn nice surprise. I was running Nova Launcher on top of it but all the Project Butter smoothness went away, so I'm gonna sit back and wait until they update a few more times.

That said, the second an AOKP ROM hits I'm gonna be all over it.

I had to abandon JB after using for the last week. I tried several ROMs and none of the were completely issue free for me. I need my phone to work well as it has become a work necessity for me. I hope the AOKP crew brings me some jelly soon after the source drops. I will be all over it!

Jelly Belly ROM has gotten really, really good. The only issue that I'm getting on 3.2 is the Google Sound Search doesnt work (big deal..) Wifi tether works flawlessly, wifi itself, 3g, 4g, sms, mms (although i noticed mms is finicky when you try to send on on wifi right now). IF you havent tried it and want a stable JB ROM, I'd suggest anything v3.2 or above would do the trick.

I am patiently waiting for AOKP to release a JB rom as well, I'm really starting to miss my bag o' goodies from team kang.
