[ROM][AOSP][10/31][JB] Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus

Re: [ROM][ICS][AOSP] 4.04 Bugless Beast CDMA Galaxy Nexus - 4/9/1

Probably going to flash the latest nightly of this, even though it's old. I feel like a fresh install will do me some good, since I've been on Redemp. ROM for a while now. Nothing wrong with it, but I always feel like things are better after a fresh install.

You'll like it if you like Redemption. I've moved to that since reading your review of it. Just to try something new. Probably go back to Bugless here in a few days.

I did a review of Bugless a while back for the NS4G. There's not a ton of frills so like any AOSP ROM it's not that interesting to review but it's really stable, really fast and seems to have a longer "shelf life" between flashes.

Re: [ROM][ICS][AOSP] 4.04 Bugless Beast CDMA Galaxy Nexus - 4/9/1

I agree, I've been bouncing around trying other ROMs since it's been a while since an update.
Redemption is probably the most comparable to BB that I have tried.

Yup I've tried Redemption too, but I really used the toggles in the status bar a lot. Plus, it seemed like Redemption ran a little slow on my phone (with the kernel that was included on the ROM and with Franco's Kernel).

Hopefully Pete will come out with something amazing (not that his ROM isn't amazing already lol).

According to Pete on twitter we should have a BB update soon. He's compiling them now.

Just checked the download site and it is up

Re: [ROM][ICS][AOSP] 4.04 Bugless Beast CDMA Galaxy Nexus - 6/3/1

Bugless is finally back I see, been on AOKP for a little over a week and love it. Finally figuring out and the cool bell and whistles in it. I may look at trying Bugless again, look for change log.

Re: [ROM][ICS][AOSP] 4.04 Bugless Beast CDMA Galaxy Nexus - 6/3/1

I think the main change is he brought it up to be in sync with the latest OTA and fixed an issue with market installs.
You can always look at his github commit to see the latest though.

I was on AKOP and Redemption for a while...Glad to be back. I don't know how he does it but BB always just seems to always work. It's the perfect balance of stability to performance.

Yup same here, but I always go back to BB.

Yay! Another update, Pete hasn't abandoned BB for the Nexus! Happy day :]

Re: [ROM][ICS][AOSP] 4.04 Bugless Beast CDMA Galaxy Nexus - 6/3/1

Anyone try the 6/3 version? Does it correct the in-app purchase bug?

Re: [ROM][ICS][AOSP] 4.04 Bugless Beast CDMA Galaxy Nexus - 6/3/1

The only reason I went and checked out AOKP was the market issues I was having previously with BB. Back to the newest BB though and its fixed. Don't get me wrong AOKP is fantastic and they do great work, but this, IMHO, is where its at.

Re: [ROM][ICS][AOSP] 4.04 Bugless Beast CDMA Galaxy Nexus - 6/9/1

I may give this a go again since I am getting horrible battery life on m38 on aokp.

Re: [ROM][ICS][AOSP] 4.04 Bugless Beast CDMA Galaxy Nexus - 6/9/1

Pete mentioned that in due time he'll work on getting some of the Linaro tweaks into the rom. Bugless is already fast so hopefully those tweaks can make it faster :)

Re: [ROM][ICS][AOSP] 4.04 Bugless Beast CDMA Galaxy Nexus - 6/9/1

hows battery life compared to aokp?

It's about the same as AKOP. I get about 0700-2200 on the weekend when I hardly use the phone and about 0600-1200 on the weekdays when I'm streaming all day long at work. I'm also running Franco's kernel. I'm not sure pete has done a whole lot of optimization of the kernel in BB yet. I always felt what marginal gains in battery life that you could get were probably going to happen in the kernel anyway.

To be honest I haven't really ever seen a good ROM offer a significant improvement in battery life. I've seen plenty of crappy ROMs kill a phone's battery really fast but generally speaking all the good ones offer about the same.

I took a different approach about a year ago to battery life. I got a ton of chargers and put them in the cars, all over the house and office. Then I picked up a few battery packs off of Woot. Then I stopped worrying about battery life :)

Re: [ROM][ICS][AOSP] 4.04 Bugless Beast CDMA Galaxy Nexus - 6/9/1

On the latest release, the headset volume is very low. It's very hard to hear the other person and voicemails unless in a very quiet area. Anyone else having this issue?

I'm not having that issue at all.
I'm using Franco with BB and that has a bunch of sound hacks so it might be masking that issue for me.
I'd check your sound settings though and make sure you don't have another app installed that could be affecting that. The new version of Lightflow I know added in sound settings so if you updated that could be related.

Just a reminder too if you have problem the best place to report them in the official thread, Pete doesn't monitor this one for support issues.

Re: [ROM][JB][AOSP] 4.1.1 Bugless Beast VZW Galaxy Nexus - 7/10/1

...and the first Jelly Bean Bugless is out.

How is it as far as stability/FCs? Is wifi tethering working? <-- this one thing is pretty big to me atm. If it is I may just take the time to flash this over my newly flashed jelly belly 3.1 ROM
