[ROM] Carbonite Fusion G v1.0 ***2.3.3 leak base*** (UPDATED 5/24/11)

You flashed the latest recovery through ROM Manager? And it still does not take? Did you flash 3.0.0.8 twice before rebooting into recovery?

Sent from Chucks new phone. "Flash Chuck, flash!"

In ROM Manager I select "Flash ClockWork Recovery"

It then shows me "Current Recovery: 3.0.0.8. I then hit "Reboot to recovery" and in recovery I see "Clockworkmod 2.5.1.5"

When i run the Clockwork flash from Linux i get the output

sudo sh install-recovery-linux.sh
erasing 'recovery'... FAILED (remote: not allowed)
sending 'recovery' (4290 KB)... OKAY
writing 'recovery'... FAILED (remote: not allowed)
rebooting...

In ROM Manager settings there is an Erase Recovery check box - Select that and then reflash 3.0.0.8. It should take.

Ok, I successfully flashed to 3.0.0.8

I erased data/reset to default
wiped cache partition
wiped Davlik
installed Carbonite from .zip
Stuck in boot loop :'(

Maybe I should first try v.5? If there is any info from my end that may help, let me know.

Flashing V.5 first will not fix your issue. That is a totally different build and will not solve your problem. The steps I take in flashing a new Rom is always:

1 reboot into recovery
2 wipe data/factory reset
3 wipe cache
4 wipe dalvik cache
5 install Rom from SD card

If you still have issues do #2-4 again.

One more thing, you say boot loop, just so we are clear you mean the bootanimation is looping (you hear the Droid sound over and over again) right? Because this does take a few minutes to load.

Ok, I am using the same order of operations in trying to load the rom. I did however get V.5 to work from downloading and installing from ROM Manager (and it is very nice btw).

by boot loop I mean, I get the white screen that says Droid Incredible, it sit there for about 45 seconds then powers off and repeats. I never get to the HTC Quietly brilliant screen.

I will try downloading the ROM again. I might have a corrupt file.

Thanks for all of the help guys.!

You can check your file with md5sum and you should get

PERSONAL OPINION
I would get away from using ROM Manager and use Recovery for everything. This way you take the app out of the equation of possibly being the issue as to why you can't flash the rom. Plus, what if you get stuck in a situation where RM isn't available and you need to recover from a backup?

FYI

RT clockworkmod Released ROM Manager v4.3.1.0: Fixes an issue with wiping dalvik cache causing file system corruption during ROM install.

Hey, Just an update.
I re-downloaded, hash checked out. I wiped data/reset to fac/wipe cache/wipe dalvik/installed from zip
all from within CWM 3.0.0.8, still get the boot loop =\

Not sure what else to do. I can get every other ROM to load just fine. I wish i could get a log file or error at least to help point at the issue

OK...so I flashed this ROM and FREAKIN LOVE IT!! My question is this...it doesnt have the boot to recovery option in the power down menu. Im having use ROM Manager to boot to recovery, which I dont really care for. (dont really like ROM Manager). Do you think you will ever add this option, or do I need to continue to just use RM?
Did I mention I LOVE this ROM!! Nice work!!

ps - only tweak...add more kick a$$ wallpapers that come with the ROM!

I flashed G 1.0 over the weekend and I love it more than .5! It's nice having Gingerbread with Sense. It installed fast and it quite stable for me to use as a daily rom. Now to just get Netflix working and this will be the perfect rom. :)

(gotta edit my sig sometime soon)

Unfortunately I had to flash back to .5. Apparently the license file for Touchdown is not 2.3 compatible (yet) and since I use that for work email I must also use a rom that it works with.

Thanks for the info about Touchdown. I was going to try this myself until I saw your post. Sticking with .5 for now.

Re: [ROM] Carbonite Fusion G v1.0 ***2.3.3 leak base*** (UPDATED

I'm new to smart phones and have never rooted before. I managed to do it and flashed G v1.0 and am very impressed but I have a problem and a few question. I'm a light user and typically had 50% battery at the end of the day with the stock froyd but with this rom my battery is draining very quickly and 78% is the display. When I change windows the new page rolls too far and has to come back and center. When I click on Mobile networks to set roaming options the process stops and I have to force close. What have I done wrong!? With a custom rom like this how do I get updates? Sorry for my ignorance!:-[

You are the first person to post in here in darn near 2 months, I think this thread is dead and I dont think any more development is going on for this rom

You should really try Nil's Business sense 3.0, its awesome, lots of updates and lots of people to help you out. I have been using it for months now and love it.

Thank you. Why did you choose Nil's Business sense 3.0 over CyanogenMod 7? This is all new to me.

CM7 is a great ROM if you are not a fan of sense. CM7 put in there own non sense tweaks that a lot of people like.

Nil's Business sense rom is a Gingerbread rom with the new sense 3.0 skin over it, plus some of his own tweaks. Just do a search on the xda froum website for Nil's Business rom and check out the screen shots. There will be a new 2.3 version update coming out this week with even more goodies for us to enjoy.

I love sense so that is why I chose Nil;s Rom, In my opinion he has the best sense rom out right now with little to no bugs.
