This is the stock rom with root.Im putting this here for everyone. You are welcome to use this as your base. This is not a rom that will get updates or tweaks. It's main purpose is for anyone that is wanting to try their luck at building a rom. This will boot and function like a normal rom.

There is one rule to this,if you use anybodys work make sure to give credit where credit is due.

Credit/Thanks:

http://forum.androidcentral.com/members/drellisdee.html -For the great recovery and all the hardwork you do for EVERYONE.I know it's even harder to do this stuff when you don't have a Optimus S to test on.
http://forum.androidcentral.com/members/gbhil.html -For all the great knowledge that you have shared with the community. If not for your guides i would of never started doing this stuff.

Nice work dude. I know a lot of people were hoping someone would do this. Kudos!!

And Happy Thanksgiving :)

EDIT - For those who are just venturing into flashing ROM's for android, This ROM serves a 2nd, potentially more important role than just for developers. This is what you'd flash on your phone if you were going into Sprint for service or repair. This would look and act just like a stock, out of the box phone, and Sprint would essentially be unable to tell the difference. Flashing this would keep you rooted and keep your custom recovery so as soon as you leave the store you could either nand restore a backup or flash a new ROM.

No it is not. But just flash this, and use the LG updater to get ZVD and then flash a VC compatible ROM back.

It would, assuming you have an Optimus S, but then many of the custom ROMs should have enabled you to do "hands free activation" also, as long as the radios matched. As to registering you handset with Sprint, that's not based on the ROM.

ok. I'm going to flash this rom to my phone. I want the phone back to stock so that I can sell it on craigslist and when somebody takes it into the store, i hope it will activate. BUT. A lot of times when you take a phone into the store to have swapped, the Dealer will do a Factory Reset.. being that this is still a "Rom" that retains recovery on your phone, will FACTORY RESET mess up this phone like it does on Custom Roms?

Its not the custom rom that messes it up.. Its your custom recovery.

ahh. ok. Thank you for such a speedy response. I just flashed this community build. I am having so much trouble getting the recovery off this phone..So according to your answer, this custom recovery (I have Xionia) will mess up Unless the factory reset is done via REcovery. I've never had trouble reverting a recovery back to Stock like I have on this phone.. It's the ADB, and such, I can't get it to work on 3 different computers.

Also you should comment on the OSCC thread now so the posts relate to the material. You dont currently have any issues with this ROM persay :)

Can someone help I flashed this and it booted but the screen stays black.

thats becuase this is super old and for v9 baseband and you most likely have vd which is the newest, plus you probably have a newer optimus that has a newer lcd screen and that could also be why it doesn't show anything..

Im willing to bet thats EXACTLY why. Good call.

so what about us with a newer lcd screen? I have one now that my older one broke. I was able to revert the old one back to the original stock because all of the unroot and revert threads were relevant.. what if I want to flash this to have sprint look at my new phone? is there any fix?

Here is a link to a clean nandroid backup of the stock vd. You can restore this nandroid to look like you are on a stock rom.

Here you go:

stock-vd.zip

Open this zip file and put the BCDS-STOCK-VD folder into your clockworkmod or nandroid folder on your sd card and restore from recovery.

So my LG keeps rebooting into a broken clockwork mod recovery. Will this drew waltons oscc tool fix it?
