Unfortunately, I have a feeling CyanogenMod (in any version) will never reach our devices. The concept of a
completely AOSP ROM, with no dependencies on TouchWiz, just seems like a faint dream of the past. The sad thing is that we had the most diligent, talented, and capable devs working on CM7(AND CM6 before that) tirelessly, for so long, and it
still didn't happen. I believe that if it was close to possible, they would've had it out to us awhile ago. They did everything they could to merge CM7 source code, and I'm
majorly grateful to them for putting up with the garbage(namely-the floods of
demanding+disrespectful XDA
leeches.."members") that they did, to try and make it happen. Now, here we are- months later, and some seriously sexy phones are emerging left and right. If I were a developer right now, and I had their situation, I would be ready to move ahead, and jump on one of the new devices with even
greater possibilities in development, so that I was using my full potential. I really
hope that in it's elderly years, the once "cutting edge" Epic ends up getting the type of treatment, respect, diligence, and inclusion, that the HTC Hero continues to receive. It would be a real shame if this incredible piece of hardware- which currently, can still put dual-core devices to shame in its GPU/gaming score

- ended up collecting dust in a drawer, while the less capable(IMO)Original Evo receives the best legacy-device treatment that only HTC's poppy appeal can attract.
I just had an image of a tan, wealthy, and retired OG EVO, sipping grey goose on its private yacht,
while the Epic, outcast from his keyboard-less family, has late-stage Alzheimer's, and wanders the cold streets, drinking cheap beer(like Natural Ice) begging strangers for spare change...
I'm depressed now. Damn, I
gotta stop reflecting my thoughts on this page.
