ROM flashing impossible due to wrong .pac file size on Leagoo T5c

Hi everyone,

I've downloaded the latest ROM at Needrom for my Leagoo T5c, and once on my PC running Windows 10, I've used 7-Zip to decompress the archive (.rar format, but I don't have WinRar, nor do I intend to install/buy it).

The file size 7-Zip gave me for the .pac file upon decompression doesn't match the file size before it was compressed, and I think it's a conversion issue between base-10 format and base-2 format, but I can't for the life of me find a way to flash my device with this ROM: SPD Update Tool won't allow it, because it's reading the wrong size, and thinks the file is corrupted (I won't bore you with the pidgin English in the dialog box...).

Here are two screenshots of the whole affair. As you can see, the file shows two different sizes, before and after decompression:





Dunno what to do at this point, because all the ROMs I've downloaded from Needrom exhibited the same characteristics.

I doubt that it's 7-Zip - I've been using it on .rar files for years, and it always uncompresses them correctly.

The size compressed is always (usually always) going to be smaller than the size uncompressed, which is what I'm seeing if I'm reading it correctly. The difference between 3.866043 and 3.958827 is the difference between 1,000 bytes/kB and 1,024 bytes/KB (note the upper and lower case Ks). They're the same size, and if SPD is looking for "the other one" it would fail for every file, so that's not the problem.

Thanks for taking the time! Actually, it turns out that the SP Upgrade Tool I had download was an old version, and the new one was posted at the same time as this newest ROM.

It took me some time to find a comprehensive tutorial on how to flash this specific phone ROM, and I found it here: https://xsflashfiles.com/leagoo-t5c-sc9853i-android-7-0-firmware-flash-files/

The tool is now flashing the ROM (been at it for almost 4 minutes, and it's at the System stage (almost done).

I'll keep my fingers crossed until it's booted and is working alright... I'll also keep you guys posted.
