Rom Help

Be careful with the Infinity ROM. You'll lose Swype, and I can find no way to get the .apk file to re-load it. I also lost all the Amazon free-for-a-day apps that I had.

I'm not glad that I rooted; more problems and no real solutions.

So either flashing EP4 stock or EE4 stock then using the update process to the Sammy firmware is too much?

You can download the beta version of swype from their website and use that.

There are plenty of answers/solutions our there if you take time to look. If you don't have time for that, then you are correct you shouldn't have rooted.

Trying to get the Swype beta keyboard from their website is no more difficult than doing brain surgery with a butter knife.

You're right - I shouldn't have rooted, as the number of utter pains in the butt that this has introduced makes the squeeze far too much to get very little juice. I'm not critical of anyone who is doing all this, but the immense time commitment required should be known by neophytes before they embark on this path. Nothing that I hoped to accomplish through rooting the phone has really been realized, and I have a whole new set of annoyances to deal with.

That statement is completely uncalled for. you was new once yourself or have you forgotten, or perhaps you'd like me to follow you around and point out everything you should have known.
once more that was a piss poor way to answer any question.. we are all here to help no matter how someone may feel their question is , we should never use some smart a__ answer to someone who doesnt know, no matter how many times they ask.. that my two cents worth and if i were a Moderator ...you'd be playing games and wondering whats up in android central...
