Hey just a thought but after wiping and flaahing the rom try booting fully into the ROM before flashing gapps.

Solid yes, some slight glitches to report sometimes out of nowhere my phone will lock up, sometimes it reboots. All things I could care less about.

OK, I have been testing without gapps for an hour now. Unfortunately, while I did not get one single "screen-on", the phone did not enter deep sleep at all. So the deep sleep thing has nothing to do with gapps, it is somewhere in the rom. The "screen-on", however, is definitely gapps.

What the hell... why? Android OS is too high man... what are you doing differently besides being on sprint?

Ran without gapps, and wake locks were gone. But I'm still not getting deep sleep. Even with gapps I cannot get deep sleep. Also, with gapps I get wake locks. But at least I can make calls now!

I assume you flashed dk gapps. RooT is there - it's just not prompting for root access. Search this thread and it's been answered.
May be helpful to add this to the OP, just to avoid questions (I had the same question

Has anybody tried just booting into safemode? I'm doing that now. Will report back...
Edit: That was fast. LOS in about 5 minutes.

OK so I just removed Google Now from Gapps (I think lol). Flashing now.

I don't think it's the hardware as much as either possibly the way that the modem is interacting with the OS and/or the signal that the user is receiving and how often the transceiver has to poll for towers. I would argue that all the devices likely have the LOS bug, but certain scenarios are exacerbating the problem and making it more obvious.

I unpacked it and removed the apks and then zipped it back up.

got LOS twice so far on beta 4 but everything else is running nice

OK, it is NOT google now. I flashed gapps with it removed and screen is coming back on constantly.

I think I just discovered that if you enable airplane mode, the screen doesn't wake back up. Can somebody else please confirm this??

It has seemed to me that when the screen is waking up, I have service...when it stops. LOS...could be a coincidence, but I'm watching for it. I believe the two issues are interrelated.
