Okay guys. There's a reason Google is such a successful company, and I don't necessarily mean Android (but we love it right?). I'm referring to their search engine. Use it! With a couple of accurate keywords you can find just about anything you're looking for. Don't fret ... Google's web spiders find every post on XDA and elsewhere, and the juicy files contained within.

This way we don't get any potential cross linking, hurt feelings, or toe stepping, and allow us to focus on what's important here ... the development progress of this ROM. If DK2 could spend less time policing his own thread and more time doing nerdy stuff with source code, we might be a bit further along.

Question why do ppl wipe 2 or 3 times.. what's the difference from wiping the device once?

Hahaha! I believe it's old habits born from the EVO 4G days and the early days of Clockwork Mod. There was a time when wipes in CWM were unreliable (or people came to the conclusion that they were, true or not), so performing wipes 2x or 3x times kind of became the norm to make sure the wipes get through correctly. Old habits die hard.

That's how I understand it anyways. These days, one wipe should do the trick.

status 7 error

Are you downloading from your phone? Use a download manager or a computer if so. Or a solid internet connection. I'd get a status 7 on bad downloads.

finally got it! Thank you DK. . . and i don't know exactly what was wrong.

i re-downloaded everything, then i received a PM from anmghstnet (THANK U) to use Cyanogenmod Epic Touch: Tools for my CWM5 and follwed OP. so far so good!

For all the noobs and assholes like me DO NOT FORMAT SYSTEM and if possible Download to computer. . .

Sorry wasn't trying to offend anyone or cause drama. Just trying to keep us out of another modem debacle. Thanks

I haven't seen anyone comment on this so I assumed it would be safe to ask since I'm new to AC, but in the RC1 change log it said that the cyanogen cm10 theme engine was added, but I don't see it anywhere in settings. Am I overlooking something? Can someone point me in the right direction?

I'm pretty sure a clean install is highly recommended.

You should be able to download your apps again for free.

Call you flash RC1 from BETA4 without wiping? Because when I run RC1 I have to pay for all my apps over again.

You shouldn't have to pay again, just clear the cache and data for market, unsync your google account and then resync it and you should be golden!

Hey DarkNight2

Here's my Logcat with LOS.

a/local/bin:$PATH < u0_a34@android:/ $ su u0_ - Pastebin.com

However, I discovered that whenever I lose signal Picasa starts up. I currently froze Picasa, and I'll start freezing applications or making tweaks whenever this happens. Hopefully I can pinpoint it to one of the GAPPS to see if there is an easy fix.

Try using app2zip to back up all your apps. Then when you flash RC1, flash rom, flash gapps, flash your apps. It works beautifully.

Which modem are you on?

RC1 runs very smooth.. it is very close to being a DD for sure. I had only two issues, 1, I use the tabUI so when you are at 128 dpi, the recent apps won't pull up.. and my texts weren't going through..

Other than the CM9 boot logo, and the absence of most CM extended settings, this rom rocks!
