I noticed this morning that the Bionic is on the list of recoveries to flash on ROM Manager...

I searched but didn't see another thread relating to this, so apologies if this is old news.

You can now reboot into recovery from ROM Manager.

Getting an error when trying to see the list of ROMs available.

Just realized that there is already an update to the recovery for the Bionic...flashed one this morning and was alerted just now that there is a new version.

i dont think its working, because i flashed this, then powered down and held vol up and vol down while hitting power booted into recovery and and it was still the stock recovery, then i tried rebooting into recovery from rom manager and all it did was a normal reboot...i think it has to do with everything saving to the internal card by default and not the sd card, i tried moving the clockworkmod folder over but still no luck

It worked for me...at least the reboot into recovery did.

I think the volume buttons/power always goes into stock recovery. That is the method to get into stock. Never went into CWM on my DX either...always stock.

The reason it goes to stock recovery when you power down and try to boot directly into recovery is because the bootloader is locked so you must bootstrap the recovery to have a custom one. Don't believe there is a way to get into the custom recovery unless you reboot recovery from either ROM Manager or the Bootstrapper app.

yeah it did, i got it to work, by flashing it 7 times and finally it did the same thing..but a little bit different, the rom manager has been granted su was shown.. who knows maybe i was trying before everything was kosher but it works lol

Where is the updated Bionic Recovery?
Also, when I bootstrap into recovery via ROM manager, I boot into the newest 5.0.2.4 version of CWM. If I bootstrap via the Bionic Bootstrap app, I boot into 4.0.1.5

When I "boot into recovery mode" straight from Rom Manager, it also does a normal boot. I read on another thread that you need to have CVPCS's recover installed first, but others have suggested otherwise. I'd rather just use the official recovery from rom manager so hopefully this can get cleared up soon.

Well I downloaded rom manager did the CWM recovery picked the bionic then did the backup it reboot and nothing. It never backed up the rom am I doing something wrong

I installed the official bootstrapper and then rom manager. Do I need to flash clockwork recovery or will this not work?

Any updates on this? I tried flashing CM recovery, it says it downloaded and my current recovery is CM, but every time I boot to it with any method, it goes to stock. I'd like to get CM recovery on this thing.

Wish I could figure it out for you, but it is working fine for me. When I select reboot into recovery from ROM manager, I get the CM recovery...

I just got mine to work.

You have to use the bootstrap app first

ROM manager by itself will not get you into recovery, at least not for me.
