Rom Manager force closes on startup

I didn't feel like the Voodoo kernel was really buying me anything at this point, and also wanted to get back to as close as stock as I could in anticipation of Froyo. (I know, probably not happening very soon, but I didn't have a lot on the phone right now, so seemed like the time to prepare.)

I went through the process of removing the lag fix and the Voodoo kernel itself. Had some difficulties, and had to manually get back to the VZW stock rom. Once I did, though, everything worked as it did the first day I got the phone. Installed my apps, rooted, setup my accounts, etc.

Then, I downloaded Rom Manager to make sure I had CM Recovery set up correctly. However, every time I try to start it, it force closes. When the phone restarts, I get two force close messages for Rom Manager at that point, too. I tried it in Trial mode and with my purchase key, no go.

So, I thought, maybe it has to do with the rom I flashed to, the stock system, kernel, recovery, and pit. So, I manually set up CM Recovery and gave jt1134's Clean Rom a try.

That rom performs flawlessly, from a usability standpoint. Love it. But still, Rom Manager force closes on me in the same manner as described above.

Any ideas of what I did to break it, or what I can do to fix it? It worked fine before I removed Voodoo.

Uninstall and try a fresh install. Clearing market cache in between. IF that doesn't work, get into CWM/advanced/fix permissions.

D'oh, fix permissions is something I didn't even think about doing. I'll try that and report the results. :)
