I have ROM Manager off of the market. Do you think there will come a time soon when I can download Jelly Bean off of ROM Manager?

ROMs available for download on ROM Manager have to be submitted for approval to be made available for download on ROM Manager.

Given time I'm sure some form of JellyBean ROM will be available.

What Paul said.

I'd also like to add that you don't necessarily have to "wait" for JB to be available there; you can always get them manually and install as normal.

That being said, I am unsure what RM's policies are concerning approval. I know the GSM JB rom is available in RM (for their phone, not ours), but in theory that's a bit more "pure" than VZW/CDMA JB ports. So you may not see them until source hits.

I'm still taking your words to wait under advisement until a stable ROM is released. Considering I spent the money on ROM Manager I'd like to take advantage of what it has to offer.

Understandable. I recommend looking at some the names, reading the comments, and finding their threads on the interwebs. That way you can get a real solid opinion as to the quality of the rom.

In ROM Manager?

Do you think there is a stable build for Jelly Bean yet (more specifically for someone like me) ?

Hey Murph, it's definitely good to support devs by buying their apps. That being said, everything done in ROM manager can be done manually, and usually with less chance of something getting borked. That's my opinion anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I purchased ROM manager as well. I never use it though. I did back on my D1 to "learn on" as DM said, but not in a long time.

Once your recovery is installed, you really just don't need ROM manager anymore. ROM's are readily available all over the place. Do a little search (here first if it's where you're most comfortable), and read the comments people are making about the ROM. Read the instructions to install it, they're not all the same. And when you've read it all a FEW times, flash it.

If you use a utility like ROM Manager that does everything for you, when you get into a pinch, you won't know what to do. You'll freak out, and you'll need someone to walk you through... IF someone is around to help.

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, and his fingers smell like fish for a day or so.

Something like that.

p.s. I may or may not have had alcoholic beverages. Give a man a drink, he's drunk for a day. Teach a man to drink, he's drunk right now.

Something like that.

This is my stance on rom manager (and probably the only one who feels this way)-> I freakin love it. It flashes roms or kernels or any flashable flawlessly and makes and restores backups without a hitch. If you're driving and flashing, this is the only way to go. Manual is much too dangerous. This is only on our phone. Heard lots of bad things on other phones is why it don't have so good a reputation.

As much as I love it, I never download files with it. Just get er fresh from the forums.

Vicious JB is in ROM Manager. I don't like downloading and installing through ROM Manager, though. I do it manually.

I appreciate the advice. I haven't seen any stable ROM's out for JB so I thought as long as I had ROM Manager, and it offered it, why not use it? My goal is to install the most stable version of JB into my GNex.

You need to wait just a few days till the verizon cdma source code is released to get really stable roms. It must be pretty solid now but my feeling is we will really see solid when that source code gets released.
All the present jb roms are a ported version of gsm code that was released to developers. They are really experimental at this point.
I want to see what the jelly fuss is about but the top ics roms are still good...its easy to wait. It won't be long.

How come, out of stupid curiosity?

I've just heard a lot about installations failing on people's phones when they use it.

Plus, I like knowing how to do it manually in ClockworkMod Recovery.

I only use ROM Manager to manage nandroids and to reboot into recovery if booting into recovery isn't a power down menu option in a ROM (which is the case now with Jelly Belly).

So do you think I should wait for a more stable Verizon LTE JellyBean ROM before making any changes?

I think you should, but I ain't you...do what you gotta do...I haven't tried jb, but it must be good right now. I just like the warm cuddly feeling of true source code in my phone. :)

I'm rooted. I just want to know if anyone has knowledge of JellyBean existing in ROM Manager, and if so, where is it and how does it run?
