It's about the same for me. I like how this ROM is basically stock minus some bloat plus some features. I'm not sure I really want or need much more than that right now, so I keep hoping this Mostly Stock ROM will get updated. However, it's been quite a while now, and I'm starting to think that I'll have to go another route to get EL30. I'm not pushing on it too much, but eventually I will get tired of waiting and have to do something else. For others who are/were on this ROM, what was your choice for getting EL30?

I got this one pre rooted. [ROM][CWM][EL30] Stock+Root+Deodexed - xda-developers You'll also need the modem update linked there.

That will get you a completely stock but rooted Gingerbread EL30 on your Epic 4G.

To use those you must have your phone already rooted with CWM. Copy those two zips to your SD card then boot to recovery and wipe your cache. Then install the EL30 zip and followed by the modem update.

I reboot after installing the EL30 one then shut down and boot to recovery to install the modem update.

Thanks, I am aware of the rooted, deodexed stock ROM. Unfortunately, being essentially stock, it has none of the added features the Mostly Stock ROM has (e.g., 1% battery mod, 1x/3G icon). I'd need to find and install all of the separate mods I want and hope that none of them overwrite another -- I've read that some theme-type mods can do that. It would be better to just have them all baked into a ROM that I could install directly in one shot, but I am going to continue to keep this option in mind.

For those interested, info on the XDA thread says that this ROM should be considered EOL now. Too bad. So what are people moving to? I'm thinking about CleanGB or SleeperROM, but advice from others would be helpful. I'd like something stable and if I can install it without wiping data (like MostlyStock), so much the better. Thanks in advance!

that is indeed sad. All I want is hotspot. Guess I'll just stick with what I have for now. Going to wait to upgrade the phone until LTE is available.

There have been two updates since this, EL30 and the current FC09. The modem firmware for FC09 has boosted my G3 speeds. I've seen up to 1.5 megabit.
