I have taken the Sprint Nameless ROM and ported to the Optimus V

Original ROM Port to Optimus V by staticmaal
Original Sprint (Optimus S) ROM by Nick7 and KSmithInNY

I will be maintaining it as an official port.

In the next update:

-Fix Swype
-Switch to VM Picasticks kernel in ROM
-Optimus V Screenshots

Rom Tested and it works great! With the exception of Swype out-of-the-box

For Best Results Be Sure to Clear Data/Cache Before Flashing!

Workaround for VM kernel:
Flash Picasticks V kernel v.07a
Kernel Download
Picasticks Kernel Thread

Workaround for Swype Keyboard:
Remove Swype apk and replace with apk from VM system dump such as another VM ROM -or- upgrade to the new Swype beta version at beta.swype.com
(This issue should be fixed soon.)

Again, Thanks to the creators of this ROM and thanks to everyone else who made bringing this completely epic ROM to Optimus V possible!

Wonderful!

There are a LOT of features in this ROM that will appeal to a lot of people! Thanks to all involved from the original S project to those of you guys who ported it over.

Great stuff.

We are seriously about to release an official ROM built off Optimus V software lol It will work much better than this port.

Look forward to it Nick7. And thanks for stopping by to give our community your contribution. It does not go unappreciated.

That's great news! A custom ROM like this is really what we need for the Optimus V.

I remember when I my vm intercept at the end of January. I got froyo on it and ubuntdroid custom ROM on it and it was awsome. Then by that time I was perfectly happy with everything except the lag, The Optimus V comes out like two days later. I exchanged the phone and haven't been on a custom themed froyo Rom since now.

umm i had to disable verification durign recovery because it kept getting an error about a missing file. i redownloaded twice. it seems to be booting up fine now ill see what happens

Does this need a specific recovery? I got installation aborted with Clockworkmod Recovery. Same thing even after I disabled verification.

I have to start by thanking you for bringing this ROM over. It has to be one of the smoothest flowing Froyo ROMs I have used for the Optimus V and it almost fully works. Also still real pretty with nice color throughout. Wish it had native cpu clocking but SetCPU works fine using the Picasticks' Kernel.

O.k. now for the couple of issues i have found:

1) My screen will not rotate with the sensor it just auto switches to landscape at certain points.

2) If I try to change the volume with the side rocker switch while changing the ringer type there is about a 20% chance of the phone freezing and rebooting.

Example:
I was previewing the selection of ringers and I noticed the volume was abit too low for some to be heard well. So right after I switched to the next ringer I increased the volume and the second I hit the rocker the phone froze and about 8-10 seconds later it rebooted. Happened 3 or 4 times while doing a once over of the ringers.

Thanks again for such an awesome ROM port and i cant wait for the full V version. All the hard work is loved and enjoyed.

@Prime0025 I used Thunderc recovery and I had to disable verification.

EDIT: I did a full wipe and reflashed without the picasticks kernel and the screen rotation worked fine then reflashed picasticks and the screen rotation quit again.

Attention Everyone!
The official Optimus V ROM release (not a port) is now posted by the real ROM devs in another thread in this forum.

Since it has been released for the V there is no real reason for me to continue maintaining it.
Please direct all support posts to the other Nameless ROM thread for the V.

This was just posted for those who wanted the ROM. I had no idea Nick7 was going to post an official Optimus V release.

Ill add this to the OP later today.

You need to make sure your recovery supports edify scrpting for froyo roms. The orange text recovery only supports amend scripting for GB roms. Change recoveries or convert the script somehow. (Typed this in a hurry.)
