[ROM] Reborn ROM v2.1 5/13/11

This is the greatest rom, its got better looks a d speed than aosp, and is as reliable as bumble bee, once I get this whole partitioning and link2sd thing figured out, it will be perfect

Dalvik cache is not moved. Use a file to check it out. I had only had 133 megs on a clean install, I used picsticks dalvik to cache mod and got it up to 173 megs. Also noticed the time without signal fix doesn't seem to be working. Had to install the apk from xda. It works great, TWOS is now 2-4%, which is normal in my area. You can find both these mods on the Rooting, Romming, Hacks sticky.

Where did you find the dalvik to cache mod? I looked on the sticky

Anxious to hear feedback. We're excited to be supporting more phones :)

reborn ROM!!!!!!!....... very good work fellas!!!!......works great on optimus s... got 4 of em on my plan(big family) and i have successfully flashed reborn to all 4 of 'em... keep up the good work!!!!

Finally I did it! I backed up my SD to computer, formatted my SD card, made a fat16 partition using gparted on my computer. And then I transfered my SD info back from my pc to my SD. I got link2sd from the market and linked every app I have to my partition a d now I have 100 MB free on my phone. Now this rom is perfect

First off this rom is bad ass. Thanks for the work. I was on the s forum and noticed the s version is updated to 2.2. I'm wondering if us v owners will get the same love?

I sure hope so, but it might be that the S version is on 2.2.1 because of the constant revisions that had to be made to it, since it was the original version...the V version is a secondary, revised version and may already be at peak functionality without the need for fixing anything. I haven't noticed any bugs on this ROM so far at all, and that's saying something major...AOSP is always buggy, and its gingerbread 2.3.4 now.

I've been trying to get the time to do that, sounds like an awesome idea :) this ROM takes up a sh*tload of space...

i'm still on my stock 2gb SD card. do you think this would work or do i need a bigger SD card for this kind of trick. also, how did you "format" your sd card? what is when inserted in PC or Phone?

I moved all the SD card to my computer and formatted the card on my phone, than I used gparted to partition a 512 MB fat16 partion on the SD. I put the files from my PC to my SD and put my SD card back in my phone and ran link2sd to move everything to the partition, the 2gb card should work fine, that's all I have.
Also, I read somewhere that you must put the partition on the first part of the SD. Good luck

Just curious...what does the far right widget in the notification drop-down window do? I know what all the others are for...but the one with opposite arrows crossing over a diagonal line confused me. it didn't seem to toggle data or anything like that. Anyone know?

Thanks

Auto Rotate. Look on the 2nd or 3rd page, theres a link to the source and you can rearrange them how you want.

Yeah I'll be updating this ROM one more time before I work on an AOSP Gingerbread. Then sometime in the future I'll be able to build this ROM off a Gingerbread base.

any word on an update for this rom?

a tws 50% fix would be super!

Jw, what kind of bugs are everybody having with this ROM so far? I was using it for a bit, it was awesome, but I'm really waiting for the second release to fully use it as a permanent ROM, right now im using the "Harmonia + Init.d + Bumblebee" OV ROM. It supports data2ext4, which is great considering the space the ROM takes up...but anyway, I did notice some bugs like wifi battery drain and some others (random rebooting, whether because of the ROM or something else...), but anyone care to share their problems? Its a great ROM, but every ROM has at least a few problems...

i never was able to get data2ext4 to work until yesterday when i switched recoveries to Xionia Cwma 12518.4 Virgin.
prior to Xionia .4 version, i was using the Xionia 12518.6 version and then changed CWM recovery, i couldn't get data2ext4 to work when on either of those recoveries. i thought it was something to do with the rom. i think the recoveries weren't cleaning out the previous installs correctly keeping me from the data mod.

since i've changed recoveries and was able to use data2ext4, i love this rom! so much "eye candy" and so far i've not had any problems, not one. the tws 50% bug isn't fixed in this, even tho it says it is. just download the fix that is found at Xda Forums and it runs every time you boot.

try it out, you'll love this rom! use any of the premade themes or cook your own and you're set!

the developer said today in another forum that an update is coming soon for our port
but, imho, its top shelf already, it doesn't need an update!!
yes, 2.4 would be nice, but dang, this thing smokes! i love it!

anyway, you asked, so i gave my 2 cents worth.
