No was just wondering. If you are worried about security why not use a pattern lock. Its still stock and not a widget that will open randomly in your pocket. Works for me. :)

I'm sorry if I'm not being clear about what I'm trying to do. I appreciate the help. :)

I do use the pattern lock, but the widgets make it easy to disable when I'm home. In turn the widgets seem to toggle the keys waking the Phone too. Another user in this thread also experienced this problem.

Good news from amazon. They said purchases are usually final, but they refunded my money.

Sweet! Congrats! Good luck with the pocket purchases lol. Hopefully someone else on here has an idea of what to do for ya.

rom is great! one thing tho, how can i get visual voicemail? tia...

I'm going to answer your question but I have to say this has been discussed many many times in this thread.

You have 2 options:

As post number 2 by Nick regarding rom setup states you can download google voice to get back your visual voice mail (as I understand it sprint is doing away with their VVM for a contract with google voice anyway)

Second option that I know several have gone with is to flash the VVM client back on itself.
For whatever reason I seem to be failing at the whole link thing atm, there's a link on page 55.

thanks for the reply...i will give option 2 a try...

Noiq patch does not work in 2.1.
It just locks it up.
I tried many times before finding it out. :-)

For some reason the download from the xda site for visual voicemail did not work, but the one from nicks nROM downloads page did. It is called cm-android.apk

Let me know if it works for you.....as I believe it did for me, but I am also running the xionia kernel

Want to try this rom but all the negative talk about battery drain is discouraging me. Hete to set everything up and then only to go back. Is the battery drain a big issue with this rom?

I've never had any battery drain issues, been running it for months.

I have used this ROM for the past month or so, and battery drain was a huge issue for me. I ended up going back to nameless v1 (the very first version of reborn) this morning since that is what my wife has been running. I don't have any data to back this up, but I feel like her battery on nameless lasts nearly twice as long as mine did on the latest reborn.

I am going to see how mine performs with nameless because it may just be my battery. So far it is looking good though.

Update on the issues I had.. Was my phone.. it ended up completely quitting and sprint said it was a short.. Not Reborns fault. :) I had excellent battery life on it though.

Search the thread for battery. People are reporting everything from worse battery life than all previous ROMs to far better battery life than all previous ROMs, including stock.

Not sure what the variable is, but since we all have different crap running in the background, and the amount of use (and different kinds of use) our phones get will vary from day to day, it's hard to have a real scientific test. I usually have pretty good battery life from 2.1. Sometimes, I have 50% left at the end of the day with moderate use. Other days I run out before the end of the day with minimal use. So again, not sure what the variables are, but give it a try! Just make a nandroid and you can easily go back.

May want to take a look at programs that are running in the background. I know that can make a massive difference. I have heard of programs such as task killer can even drain your battery.

I love Reborn rom but unfortunately I'm one of those who seems to have horrible battery life. I work in NYC and noticed that when I'm in the subway (where there's no service), I get the data roam guard pop-up even if I'm not doing anything that requires internet service. I'm thinking maybe there's something running in the background on my phone that's constantly looking for internet service which may be a cause of the battery drain.

I don't really have that many apps installed so I'm not sure what it could be. Google maps? Any input from anyone?

I have been using Reborn ROM, and I'm getting around 1/2 day to 3/4 with medium to heavy usage. This is my first smart phone, so I'm guessing this is just normal now.(All my friends have EVO's and are constantly running around with their phone wall and car chargers.)
