Re: [ROM] Reborn ROM v2.2.2 - 6/28/11

Battery life much better. After 12 hours I am at 61% with not so good signal and light use.

The 3g issue is very common if you are running on an older baseband: since you have already flashed the rom the method listed in the op to check it won't work. But you could try updating the baseband using the link in the OP. I'm not sure how this will effect being that you are on boost but you could give it a try.

OK thanks I'll try but I'm already running the vd baseband. Has there been a more recent update than the one i have? And one more question by the way. What do u mean by the op? Which thread is it in? I know I'm sorry I'm still kind of a noob but learning more and more everyday. Lol. Thanks

OP refers to original post, as in the first post in this thread.

And if you are checking the baseband in your phone after flashing it, it's reading the buildprop so that will not give a correct reading. Yes it should be on VD, but if you flashed this over VC it will still say VD.

OK thanks. So then I already have the latest baseband is what you're saying? Or is there any other method to check for the correct baseband? Thanks

No... What I am trying to say is that there is no way to tell what baseband you are on because the baseband is listed in the build.prop of the rom you are running. Since you are on RebornROM it will say VD regardless of what baseband you are actually on.

The issue you described is usually caused by flashing reborn over an older baseband like v9 or vc, but again, you can't check your baseband after the fact.

In short, try updating your baseband using the directions linked in the OP...

Ok thanks I'll try it. But it won't cause me to lose anything like root access right? Just wondering before I proceed.

Just be sure to read each post fully before doing anything. ;)

In the post sblood referred you to, at the very top it says "If you already are rooted and have a custom recovery in place you can easily move from the V9/VC baseband to the newest VD update without having to re-root, or reinstall any of your apps"

So you should be good, you will not lose root, data, or anything by using this method. Good luck.

Ok, moving Dolphin hd back to the phone. I think the airplane thing might be a juice defender issue. When I turn the screen back on I get a cleared... number... message across the top. I will see what I can do to fix this.

Re: [ROM] Reborn ROM v2.2.2 - 6/28/11

Im having an issue with the hotspot widget. It was working great on 2.2 then stopped working, I flashed to 2.2.2 but the issue was not resolved. I wiped the cache and dalvik, but I didnt wipe data, so Im assuming it has something to do with the hotspot.

Re: [ROM] Reborn ROM v2.2.2 - 6/28/11

you can use Google voice for voice mail. He just recently added back the visual voicemail. As for AAC, Enable stagefright and see if it works. idk I don't use it.

1-FAIL-I have BOOST MOBILE so I can't forward my voicemail to GOOGLE.
2-FAIL-I tried it using the tweak program
3-PPTP/VPN I haven't heard anyting about yet...

Re: [ROM] Reborn ROM v2.2.2 - 6/28/11

Hey guys quick question about apps and .apks...

If I manually copy/paste an app in .apk format onto my SD Card...I know that I can use a file explorer like 'Astro' for example, then navigate to it's location and install.

However...when it does install that app...does it keep it in .apk format or if I download an app from the marketplace and it installs the app...is that installed app still in .apk format?

I ask because...I'm trying to locate where all of my apps are physically located on my RebornROM phone...and so far all I see are tons of .asec files.

Just curious.

Thanks!

BJ

With BUSYBOX installed you can use this command:

find / -name *.apk and it will locate all the APK's installed on your phone.

You can check in:

/system/app and /data/app folders for it...

Re: [ROM] Reborn ROM v2.2.2 - 6/28/11

KSmithInNY found out how in Thunderrom 1.8.2 when we got updated to Android 2.2.2 , but i don't think he ever said how. Maybe b/c Sprint was watching then.

Re: [ROM] Reborn ROM v2.2.2 - 6/28/11

This is probably a dumb question but can't hurt to ask... I know this doesn't work with the Optimus V... but would it work with an LG Vortex? The reason I ask is b/c a friend has one and there isn't squat for those phones... not that I can find anyway.

Thanks!

I'm 99% sure it wouldnt work for the Vortex. There are a couple roms over at androidforums.

Re: [ROM] Reborn ROM v2.2.2 - 6/28/11

I've been noticing ads creeping back in. Shazaam for instance. Anything I can do, or just wait for an update?
