I upgraded from Nameless ROM to Reborn 2.2.4 without issue, and I LOVE it...except for 1 issue. It seems that the Bluetooth implementation uses more battery that Stock or Nameless. is this possible? If I leave BT on, but not paired to anything (like when I am in my office), my battery gets killed. if I turn BT off, everything is fine. This did not happen with the previous ROMs.

Am I doing something wrong, or BT just more of a battery hog in Reborn?

Thanks

This is the first custom ROM I have tried for my son's Optimus even though he has been rooted for a little while. Great work!! He loves it. With the Reborn ROM plus the GreenApocalypse theme he feels he has a new phone!!

This may be a stupid question...
But Sprint is rolling Gingerbread out starting today.

Is blocking OTA updates possible?
Are these types of updates blocked in this rom?
If not, will flashing back to a previous nandroid back up, get rid of the OTA update available pop-up?

Thanks in advance!

Yes it is possible to block OTA updates, I'm not sure if Reborn does. What you can do is select "more info" when the OTA update comes up, then pull the battery. This has prevented the update nag from coming back in past updates.

YES COULD you please update your rom to incorporate gingerbread. I know it will take a while. You guys made a great rom. I just recently traded in in my intercept for the Optimus s. the intercept sucked. Im currently on the reborn rom on the Optimus s and love it. and wont lose it to go to gingerbread. Any way I can help just let me know

I am going to agree, please update this and add gingerbread. I tried all the ROMs out there and this is the first one I ever stuck with. Hell this is the first one I even went back to the default launcher on. This is simply the best ROM and it can even get better now!

I'm agreeing with glcb on this one:-) I played around with all of them, but the stability, tweaks like your roaming app, and overall usability make it number 1 in my eyes:-) patients is the key, but total excitement is how I feel!!!!

Hey Nick7, great job I love this ROM I keep coming back to it even with all the new features of Gingerbreak and CM7.

I've been doing a lot of command line stuff figuring out data2ext and noticed different results sometimes. It turns out there are two different versions of busybox installed on the ROM. If you remove one of them it will trim a couple of MB's from the ROM. Keep up the great work.

Code:
# /system/bin/busybox
BusyBox v1.16.0 (2010-03-22 20:28:28 MST) multi-call binary.

# /system/xbin/busybox
BusyBox v1.17.2 (2010-09-17 21:51:54 IST) multi-call binary.

I'd love to read through all the pages of this thread to get my answer, but frankly, I don't have the time. I just picked this rom up a few days ago, and really like the feel over Thunderrom, but I can't seem to SEND MMS. I've received them from multiple people, but everytime I send, whether it be in Handcent, TextSecure or the stock messaging app, it refuses to send. I've reset, reflashed, and dirty flashed, wifi, 3g and 1x, and I can't get them to send. Anyone with some tips or ideas?

Otherwise, I love this over thunder, I can't believe it took me so long to switch over.

keep losing the 3g signal whenever i try the portable hotspot. wireless tether isn't working either

I didn't experience this issue, but I've seen it mentioned before, and if I'm not mistaken, the problem always comes down to lack of a proper wipe when flashing

There's a debug.zip file that's recommended before flashing any new ROM on this phone, see here in basketthis' FAQ:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...ms-rooting-related-questions.html#post1183966

and his link to download the file: http://db.tt/SI1Vwx2

Place it in the root of your sdcard... after you wipe data/factoryreset/cache/dalvik, then flash that zip file, and then after that, flash your ROM, etc. (if you've done all that, including the debug file, then I'm out of ideas....)

I put this one on my dad's phone, and he's been really impressed with the improved battery life he's gotten out of it. Seems more stable than stock, too, these guys did a great job. :)

Just for this quote and because I love Reborn and want to see you work on porting to GB. I just sent you $5.00. I know it is not much but if we all sent you a few it would encourage you to work harder on getting us all to GB.

:D

It is great to have people donating to these roms! The guys doing them work very hard on them and give alot to this community! Keep these roms going guys!!

Wireless Tether means the same thing as portable hotspot, but... You need to use the Hotspot widget that comes with the ROM, not the "portable hotspot" option in your settings.

If this is what you are using when you lose 3g, not sure what the problem is. You can try updating PRL and Profile (in your About Phone). Just don't update firmware. :)

Good luck
