Can someone give me a recommendation for a Rom on this device i'm having trouble sorting which one i want to use on my phone!

Try CleanROM 3.0. It is based on the stock Rom so everything works, has a bunch of nice add-ons and no CIQ.

overclocking is not a big deal phone is fast already....custom themes are cool but i want everything to almost everything working!

Seconding CleanROM. Works great, extends battery life, and Scott(heck, the whole community over at scottsroms.com in my experience)offer tons of great support. Check it out, you'll be glad you did!

If you get good 4g signal the best running one i can think of is chogardjr 2.1 version which is latest i think. Its a sense 3.0 odex rom so nothing will beat that period. If you can't get 4g and 3g only mik runnymeade 3.5 rom is in the same class using anthrax. Tons options with 3.5 sense. Both these roms are odex so super smooth can't beat em. If you want rom you wanna alter and theme alot mean rom is great choice. 1.8 version is his. Its deodex and great base. Have to go to xda prolly for mean rom the other two are on themikmik.com Mik roms are as good as they get. He was made famous and legend with mik froyo rom when evo 4g came out. Chogardjr is from his team which is group of folks now not just mik himself. Virus also makes decent stuff and same calibur i'm sure I just prefer mik stuff. Virus also makes some good base stuff. All these roms use chads anthrax but as of late htc has yet to put out source for latest update and nobody is using anything but stock. The latest stock kernel puts out more at 1.2 than old update did with anthrax at 1.5. Everyone including chad is waiting for that source.
All the 2.17 Roms are getting good 4g signals. I'm on infected ROM r168 and my 4g has never been better.

I agree 100% I haven't tried any that were not. The signal seems to be stronger and I get 4g inside at work now at level 1 solid were before wasn't never a day I even could connect. They did great job with this last update. I mean good as anthrax and chad is even it at 1.5 can't touch new update at 1.2. That is big there. Cant wait to see what chad can do with new source. If it can improve he will do it. I dunno? Htc did good job with last update dunno how much more it can be done but im sure he find way. At very least simple overclock will be nice to try and with this kernel should be pretty quick.
I think my phone is just as fast on the stock kernel using freezas dual core active script with the new update than it was OC to 1.5 ghz.

Eternity A1.1 with chad goodmans anthrax rls04 1.7ghz kernel is the best combo I've used by far!
