I'm done with the rain too. It's been like a week already. I feel like I live in ****ing Seattle lol... I hate the cold though. With a deep deep passion.... I could use me some PR weather right about now

SCREW my EVO! I couldn't flash the ROM I wanted, and I couldn't flash CM6. But vaelpak flashed just fine.

Boot loops. I used Amon to wipe everything (data, cache, and dalvik each one twice) and then tried to flash the 8-28 RC from XDA (thinking it was the most stable and most likely to work) and it boot looped.
I like vaelpak and myn A LOT, but I wanna try CM6 with snap just to see what ll the fuss is about.

Have you tried the actually CM6 Stable? The date you have is right but its not an RC2

I tried both RC's available in ROM Manager, too. (Even used Amon to wipe before I tried to flash.
Dropped my Evo last night and it broke...did an insurance claim so they are sending me out another one...only bad thing is the new one will come with 2.2 already on it more than likely...I'll have to root it again and see what i can do as far as flashing and all goes...
does nandroid backup save to your sd card by any chance? or can i use rom manager to do a clockwork backup on my sd card? once rooted, i'd like to go back to the way my phone is now...

You cant use backups from other phones. Sorry mate
even if it's the same phone? i just check my sd card and i have back ups from clockwork...why wouldn't it work on the same device?
Damn dude that sucks. I just got my replacement yesterday. I was really tempted to use my nand backups but I figured might as well start from scratch. A few people told me the same that you can't use nands on different phones. I wasn't sure why but now I know.. My Evo isn't as loving to the funny stuff as my last one. Example, my last one I was able to clock at 1190 max 1190 min set to performance with no issues at all. This one I can't go over 1152 or it'll instantly lock. So I'm sure there would be other slight issues with other things if I were to just nand restore everything. So I think it is a good idea to just start from scratch. Trust me, I kno, it's a pain in the ***. But worth it
Haha. Ya it really sucks dude. I made it a little easier for me though. I synced the apps with app brain and I took snapshots of all my home screens lol
