I would NEVER do a vanilla ROM. HTC Sense has too much win to be excluded from a build lol.

This Rom is really nice....it is my first custom rom. Got a question though....I changed the wallpaper last night when I was setting everything up....this morning (after bump charging it) I fired it back up and the wallpaper defaulted back to the default wallpaper that was loaded on the ROM. Is that how it is on these or is there still some customization left I can do?

Also, what is everyone's opinion on Kernal's stick with stock, or do a custom undervolt/overclock? I don't really need any more speed, but if I could gain some battery life I'd be in for trying that.

i like the undervolt. better battery life thus far, and it's really quite snappy with Uncommon Sense 1.0.

i don't know if it's just me, but UCS 1.0 feels lighter than the VZW 2.2.

i don't know if it's just me, but UCS 1.0 feels lighter than the VZW 2.2.

Are you using the one titled "#1 Overclocked Undervolted 1.15ghz v1.0" or the one in the Undervolt section titled "Stock Speed Undervolted Kernel v0.5". I only care about batter life, so which ever works better to attain that goal I'll jump ship. I'll appreciate your feedback.

I haven't been using it very hard core at all (email retrieval, light browsing, no calls today)

since 7:30 to 1:45, i'm down to 71% battery.

I'm using King BSF #5: from full charge (1am) 'til now 2:30pm and I'm at 53%. It's hard to measure "heavy usage" since I work on a computer or day. But today I've been doing a couple of calls (less than 10min), 20 txt messages, some browsing/facebook/xda apps, and light music playing. I haven't had any FC but this is day 1 with this kernel...I've read about people saying that behavior guess funky after some days of usage. I guess I'll keep King #5 for the weekend and try Hydra Undervolt next week

Anyone else have a problem with the auto-adjust backlight? I have done two fresh downloads and installs of this ROM and both times, the backlight fails to auto dim in low light situations (and yes, it is selected). May need to add to bugfix, because it kills the battery.

Just fyi, I have had 3 random freezes where I had to pull the battery. One was while using weather bug and the other was just sending an mms message. Also, this ROM has kicked me off my web browser a couple of times, where it will just randomly close for no reason.

i recently switched from this to redemption. redemption is smoother in the apps folder and i like the smaller home page icons.... will probably give this one a shot again at some point and play with kernels. but for now redemption is workin well.

however, uncommon is MUCH better in visual quality. the small changes in the font are nice

*edit* so after posting i decided to work with some kernels before i write off uncommon. haha

Did it have to come with the newest Google Voice? I'm wanting to install v.3.4 but it ain't letting me.

A bigger annoyance would be the inability to change what browser launches from the icon. Giving the user an option of what it launches would be hella useful.

Been using this ROM for a day and everything else is perfect.

What problems are you having? I was able to do it just fine. Don't download the HTCMusic.apk that has been posted around the forums...that one doesn't work. What I ended up doing was the following:

1) Reinstall my SkyRaider 3.1RC3 nandroid backup and copy the HTCMusic.apk to my computer)
2) Reinstall my Uncommon 1.0 nandroid backup.
3) Use adb to push (copy) the apk into my phone.
4) Reboot

NOTE: The rotary/unlock screen music controls use by default the MusicMod player. I uninstall MusicMod (Music.apk) so that the controls could work properly with HTC Music player.

Let me know if you need more help.

Any idea how to update Adobe Flash? ROM will not allow me to update via Market.

This happens with other ROMs too. Basically, due to the popularity of Hulu among the Android crowd (me not included), the ROM dev has to tie-in a specific version of Adobe so that Hulu works properly. If you want to update to the latest and greatest version of Flash you have to say goodbye to Hulu. What I did in SkyRaider was to manually uninstall Hulu and Flash and then search for Flash in the market. You need an extra command for uninstalling Flash, but I don't have it at hand right now. I got it from SkyRaider's dev either in AndroidCentral or XDA...can't remember. Send me a PM and I can give you the instructions later today. Granted, I haven't try it with Uncommon 1.0 because I installed it 2 days ago.

I have no idea how to use adb. What is that exactly. I did a google search and it looks to be developer software. Where can I download it? I would really like to install the htc music apk's!
