[ROM] Uncommon Sense (v1.0) Release!

I have no idea how to use adb. What is that exactly. I did a google search and it looks to be developer software. Where can I download it? I would really like to install the htc music apk's!
I assume you rooted your phone yourself, so you should have in your computer the Android SDK, right? if so, inside the SDK installation there is a "Tools" directory which has the "adb" tool. Check this thread before you do anything else on your phone:

How 2 - ADB, Rooting(reflash), Unrooting, Nandroid, Remove/Install App, roms, kernels - xda-developers

The above thread shows you how to use adb for simple things like uninstalling apps, etc. Similar commands are used to copy the HTC Music apk into your phone.

i recently switched from this to redemption. redemption is smoother in the apps folder and i like the smaller home page icons.... will probably give this one a shot again at some point and play with kernels. but for now redemption is workin well.

however, uncommon is MUCH better in visual quality. the small changes in the font are nice

*edit* so after posting i decided to work with some kernels before i write off uncommon. haha
If you could I would greatly appreciate it.

The music app is now installed. it still fails to install the htc music widget though...

Sorry to hear. I'm not a fan of widgets so never bothered to install the HTC Music Widget. Not sure if a supplemental file is needed. I think the OP is more active in the XDA forums, so you might want to contact him there in case he can provide more assistance:

I notice that I do not have latest verison of adobe flash player. Now I know I am not able to update flash through the market with this rom, but why isnt the latest verison applied to this rom? Am i missing somdthing here?

The version of flash is modified to allow the hulu app to run.

Is anyone having issues with reboots/boot loops with this rom and king#5 when running at 1.19? I am thinking the batch of dincs mine came out of can't handle that high of an overclock.

Its possible that that is true. I know that over in webOS land the max clock speed does differ from batch to batch. Either way, why do you need to run it that fast?

I just installed this ROM a day ago, and wow. If it was enough to get me off of Virtuous, you know it must be good. And it is ;)

I tried king#5 and couldn't get past the splash screen. I am currently using the Hydra stock undervolt and it has been working flawlessly.

I also tried king #5. It does NOT work with this ROM. It sucks. It freezes and it's choppy as hell. Even at stock speed.

I like this ROM a lot. I have Virtuous and Ruby 1.1.1 as backup files with both 2.1 and 2.2 stock backups. I'm gonna run with this for a couple weeks, if I get bored I can switch.

So far, so good!

I don't run it that fast, the kernel will run it that fast. If I set SetCPU to run at stock speeds, the kernel and the phone seem fine. The problem I was having was not running SetCPU which made the kernel make the phone unstable.

When using the stock undervolt kernel from hydra do you guys use SetCPU still or no? If so, what settings are you guys running with this kernel? I am trying to maximize battery life without giving up stock performance.

Are there any benefits to using this ROM if you want to use Launcher Pro for the homescreen? Right now I am running CM6 but that is the only ROM I have flashed onto my DInc. I've only had root for a few days and I think that I might develop a ROM addidction.

I am still trying to find the right mix for me. If I am going stock undervolt, I haven't determined if SetCPU helps or not. I tend to lean towards it does not help with the hydra stock undervolt kernel.

I do like it running with the overclocked kernels, there are times when I don't want the overclocked speeds but like having the option.

Right now I am running #3, It seems like the best overclock for my phone.

For those who are having battery issues, this morning I uninstalled a couple apps and my battery life has returned.

I had installed Watchdog and Brightness Rocker Lite in the last couple days to try them out. My battery would drain about 5% per hour with no use. After uninstalling them, I have gone an hour and I am still at 100%.

I am not sure which was the issue, but my best recommendation is to look a what apps you have running and see if one of them are draining battery life.

Both are fine apps, but one of them didn't seem to play well with my currnt setup.
